"We like to dream all day~" - Slightly
NAME: Edward Guy Whiteley. NICKNAMES: Whiteley, Ed, Eddy, Edwardo. AGE: Nineteen. BIRTHDAY: November 23. ORIENTATION: Straight. NATIONALITY: British. OCCUPATION: Sophomore at Fantasia University. PLAYED BY: Jake Abel. DISNEY: Slightly, Peter Pan. USER GROUP: Comic relief.
PERSONALITY !
CONCEITED!
One thing you should probably know about Ed is his unfailing tendency to think of himself above all else. Edward thinks very highly of himself, and he doesn't have a problem letting anyone know how awesome he thinks he is. He likes to think that he's smart, though the truth is completely the opposite, just as long as you don't let him know that, he's probably gonna like you, being a pretty friendly guy. Just don't expect him to like you any more than he likes himself, because it hasn't happened yet and it's probably not going to happen for a long time, if ever, either, knowing him.
SWEET!
Regardless of Edward's obvious self absorption, he's a really good kid. He tends to forget about lots of things, especially people's feelings, which tends to get him in a lot of trouble with a lot of people. But when Ed hurts someone's feelings and actually realizes it, he almost always immediately apologizes, unless he thinks he was still in the right (which does tend to happen often) and that is the instance that he says that he's sorry that he hurt their feelings but he still doesn't take it back because he can be extremely stubborn when he wants to be.
CHILDISH!
Ed Whiteley definitely has a lot to learn about a lot of things. He likes to think that he's smart, but deep down even he knows he can be really dumb at times. Ed hates the idea of having to grow up one day, even though he's already nineteen. The young man is told constantly to grow up, but that's just it- he doesn't want to, he wants to stay a- well, a sort of innocent kid for the rest of his life, no worries, no cares, just complete and total freedom. That's honestly all the kid really wants.
JEALOUS!
Edward has a bit of a problem when it comes to the Green Eyed Monster. When he sees something he sorta kinda likes but finds out that someone else has it instead, he gets a little possessive at times, and gains a lot of rivals for this, as well. He's easily envious, regardless of whether it is a girl or an item. This tends to happen a lot, even with his closest friends, and he doesn't know why, but, it happens, whether he likes it or not.
QUIRKS: Can not stay still- always twitching in some way, whether it's tapping his foot or his fingers or bobbing his head.
LIKES: Himself, winning, music, compliments, contact sports, getting his hands dirty, adventures, climbing trees, games, not acting his age, Christmas, getting presents, mirrors.
DISLIKES: Taking responsibility, criticism, sleep, not getting his way, getting caught, broken instruments, the foster system, running away, feeling lost, authority figures, failing, growing up.
HISTORY !
Edward Black was born nineteen years ago to a Emma and Charles Black, in Manchester, England. He lived a happy first five years of his life, until one day when he was over at a friend's, and his parents died in a house fire. Not having any other family, Edward was sent to an orphanage. He didn't completely understand why this had happened, but he did know that it was the worst time of his life in that orphanage. He wasn't adopted until he was ten, and this was by an American couple named Joanna and Horace Whiteley, who lived in a place called Fantasia City.
Edward wasn't sure if he liked them at first. They were a little too strict for his liking, anyway. The boy kept his distance as much he could from them, sneaking out late at night and avoiding coming home as much as possible and overall just getting into a lot of trouble. This rebellious stage stayed with him through his teenage years as well, resulting in a lot of detention.
Ed never really cared though, either, because he got average grades and did well in football, which was all he really cared about at the time. When Edward was about seventeen he found that he had quite a passion for music, specifically the clarinet and the guitar, but he always tended to push them aside for football.
Edward and his adopted parents finally grew used to each other and grew to love each other over time, but still Ed isn't quite as close to them as he could be, he still doesn't like to think of them as his parents, even though honestly he can't even remember his real parents, just bits and pieces, and a picture of them that he keeps under his pillow.
As for further education, Edward managed to get into Fantasia University, majoring in music, and he's not quite as rebellious and wild as he used to be but he's still the same stubborn little boy he's always been on the inside regardless of his age.
SAMPLE !
Diana hummed softly to herself as she walked slowly down the library shelves, fingering the books as she passed them. The freshman wasn't in search of anything in particular, she was just bored and didn't have anything better to do, really. She finished her homework strangely fast, and she got tired of just dancing all the time, so she had decided to do something different for once and go to the library, maybe find a book or two to just read in her spare time. Di was never much of a reader, and she didn't really know what to pick out, so she had just spun around in a circle and took the first book she saw. Inkheart. Hmm, well, that was a strange name. But, The Spin had chosen. And Diana never rebelled against The Spin.
Or at least, she didn't when there was absolutely nothing else to do and it really didn't look all that bad, just a little thick, so she shrugged and went off towards the Basement of the library, flipping through the pages in search of pictures, still humming softly enough as to not disturb anyone deep into a book or easily distracted. She peeked around the basement quietly, fingering the hem of her oversized Be Mine tee before she tiptoed forward and promptly flopped ungracefully on a beanbag, smiling contentedly as she slipped her beanie off and smoothed her loose, wavy reddish brown hair down, putting her legs out and crossing them once remembering she was wearing a skirt because if somehow wind of Diana Prentiss sitting on a beanbag with her legs farther than three inches apart got to her mother oh would this poor child be in for it.
Even though there was very little chance for that to ever happen. Diana grinned to herself anyway as she cracked open the book, noticing right off that it had a sort of new smell to it like the library had just recently got it. Diana was a very fast reader compared to most, so fast that she actually accidentally skipped a few words a lot of the time in her rush to get to the next part of the book. Inkheart was no exception. She had to go back and reread bits because of this little issue she had. Most of the time she was very patient, but definitely not when she was actually getting into a book.
Another thing that Diana seemed to find herself doing when she was enjoying herself in a book or even a movie, was that she would get a very interesting expression on her face: her eyes got even bigger than usual and her mouth dropped open slightly and she looked like she was in absolute shock at whatever was happening and she would completely lose track of the time and her surroundings. The fifteen year old was actually so enraptured in said book that she nearly didn't notice that someone had tripped over her long, outstretched legs, but once she did realize this, she squealed slightly and clutched the book tightly to her chest, pulling her legs quickly towards herself in surprise. "Oh my goodness! Are you quite all right?" She asked, terrified that she had mortally wounded someone.
This would happen as she got into a book for the first time in forever.
