PERSONALITY !

LOYAL! Percy is loyal to a T! (Even though there isn't a 't' in loyal, but... yeah) Especially to Anya, she is his best friend after all. Anyway, Percy is like his canine counterpart in the way that when he makes friends, he sticks to them no matter what. He always sticks up for his friends and when he doesn't have a good feeling about someone who is interacting with his friend, he will let that person know and if that person wants to get to Pooka's friend, they have to get through him (thus, he is overly protective).
OVERPROTECTIVE! Percy is VERY possessive of his best friends, and therefore he would protect them until his very last breath within the best of his abilities. When someone he doesn't particularly care for come along and tries to interact with his friends in a way that makes Pooka a little nervous, he'll step in and start glaring at them until they go away. (Since he's not a dog, he can't growl and bark at them, but if they get him mad enough he'll bark in the human way-biting their head off with his words.)
LOVING! Because Percy is loyal and overprotective, he is also very loving when it comes to his friends. He has no family, so he basically clings to his best friends and has his own little family with them. If someone should try and hurt his family, he'll give them hell. Percy looks to his best friend as his older sister and his motherly advocate, so he spends most of his time with her.

QUIRKS: bounces around when excited, glares/growls when feeling threatened, visibly bristles when annoyed, tugs on Anya to make her pay attention, runs around in circles when bored, paces when uneasy, sputters incoherently when flustered.

HISTORY !

Perseus Albert Johnson was born on a cold November day, the 21st to be exact, to Shawn and Eileen Johnson. At least, that's what he was told. When he was young, he lived with his parents. It was a happy time from what he can assume, but when he was six years old he and his parents were involved in a horrendous car accident that took the lives of both Shawn and Eileen and spared little Percy.

Percy woke up in the hospital a few weeks later, an orphan, and was sent to live in an orphanage where nothing was as good as it seemed. Life at the orphanage was horrible. When he wasn't being neglected by the people in charge and being sent off with other children his age to work in the warehouses nearby, he and the other children were barely being fed and left outside in the cold until they had brought home enough wood to heat the entire building. It also didn't help that the people in charge of the orphanage demanded the children's' paychecks and wouldn't let them keep anything they earned.

What they didn't know was that Percy and his friends were putting aside the tips that the manager of the workhouse would give them and hiding them from the ladies at the orphanage. When they felt they had enough money, at the ripe age of twelve, the children ran away from the orphanage in the middle of the night. Sadly, during their escape two of their friends got caught and sent back to the orphanage. One-by-one the kids were being picked off and soon it was just Percy.

After living by himself on the streets for a few months, he ran into an elderly lady named Maria. She took him in as her own and cleaned him up, providing for Percy as much as she could. Sadly, Percy's caretaker fell ill and passed on within 5 years of him being with her. The woman left her entire fortune to Percy, so he didn't end up on the streets again, and now he lives off of that. Thankfully, Percy learned to be better with money from Maria and he hasn't even made a chunk out of it since he was eighteen. Now he works at the zoo as a keeper and is just trying to get by. The loss of Maria still haunts him to his day, just as much as the death of his parents does, and he's still trying to get over it.
