"I'm sorry I must grow up..." - Wendy
NAME: Luce Wendy Darling NICKNAMES: Lu AGE: Nineteen BIRTHDAY: March 22nd ORIENTATION: Heterosexual NATIONALITY: English OCCUPATION: Student and baby sitter for an after school job. PLAYED BY: Emma Watson DISNEY: Wendy USER GROUP: Heroine
PERSONALITY !
RESERVED! Luce is incredibly calm and reserved. All her thoughts she keeps to herself, especially if they're negative. If asked what is on her mind, Luce will almost always tell you but she will sugar coat it or tone it down a bit. She doesn't like to hurt feelings, and likes it even less if someone elses words are meant to hurt another person. She doesn't butt into arguments, though. She finds that is rude and won't do it although she won't chastise others for doing it to her. NURTURING! She doesn't know where she gets it, really. She's incredibly motherly and has this nurturing side to her that she can't seem to tamp down. She has an uncanny ability of calming people down, soothing their savage psyche or whatever you want to consider it, and she often likes to settle disputes in a calm way if possible. She also likes to make people feel loved and wanted, so she tries to brighten their days a bit. INTELLIGENT! Being well read, Luce has quite the brain. She doesn't lord it over people, though, because she thinks that is tacky and completely blows her reserved personality. She reads quite a bit and treasures her books like crazy. She hates when the spines get bent, the corners dog eared, or if anything gets spilled on them. She is capable of having deep discussions about novels that she has read, and she always has some form of opinion or comment about others she is in the process of reading or wishes to read eventually. STUCK! Luce is stuck between growing up and clinging to her childhood. She doesn't want to face the responsibilities that adulthood promises her, but she doesn't necessarily want to have to be looked at like a child much longer. She is constantly battling with herself about what path to choose and she hates it. It is possibly the most unfavorable thing about herself. SURPRISING! Not everything about Luce is what meets the eye. She has some very surprising elements about her that only a select few get to see. She doesn't like the possibility of getting hurt, and so she keeps some things about herself locked up and away from those people who could possibly hurt her more than imaginable.
QUIRKS: Luce is a quirky person...or...well, somewhat quirky. She has lots of quirks, or rather annoying habits. She alphabetizes her books by author's last name, makes her tea a certain way, has a routine to her day, has to finish one book before picking up another. Luce likes to think of these as quirks, but someone else might call them compulsions or part of her ″uptight″ regime. She isn't entirely uptight and she can let her hair down quite well, but it takes a bit to get her there.
LIKES: reading, sitting by the fire, dancing around in her pajamas, singing annoying songs that are stuck in her head, gooey romance movies, marshmallows, sweets of any kind, laughing, laying outside in the grass, the sunshine, staying up late, giggling at inside jokes, making others feel better, climbing trees and chilling in the branches, fruits, flowers, hats, comfortable clothes, when she can pull her hair up into a ponytail, collecting diaries, people watching, surprising people, piggy back rides. DISLIKES: in between weather, unhappy endings, rude people, decisions, dull walls, books that make her cry, when something changes in her routine, being called dull, when someone proves her wrong, getting flustered, speaking her mind in a hurtful way, crying, crying in front of people, being cold, looking through old photos, feeling nostalgic, being compared to someone else, competition, being called names, arguing, any conflict.
HISTORY !
Luce Wendy Darling was born the first child to Mr. and Mrs. Darling on a brisk March morning. She was a quiet and pensive baby who rarely caused any trouble at all. This would follow her into her childhood, her teen years, and then into her young adult years, as well. Two years after she was born, her first brother came into the world. She wasn't a jealous toddler, she didn't try to grab attention from her parents when Johnathon needed it more. She was incredibly understanding for a two year old, and her parents counted it as a blessing.
She was always sensible, especially as she aged. She escaped into the land of books as soon as she possibly could; finding that pretending to be someone you weren't really was the best way to handle some things in the world. When she was told of their relocation to Fantasia, Luce wasn't incredibly happy about it – unlike John who was absolutely thrilled. Fairy tales were meant for storybooks, not real life. Imagination was meant for writing and creating, not living. But they moved there and Luce put forth her best 'grin and bear it' face. John immediately fell in love with Fantasia and he pulled Michael along in his shenanigans around the city while Luce preferred to stay indoors and read or meander about on her own.
It wasn't until John started getting mixed up with a certain Peter Patkins that Luce decided she needed to step out of her bubble and try to see what exactly her younger brother was doing with his life and how exactly this Peter Patkins was influencing her brothers. Luce didn't interfere, but instead watched from afar – disliking the influence Peter had on the two younger boys, but not saying anything because it wasn't her place. As it stands now, Luce has tried to insert herself into their lives a bit more – hoping to make them see reason with their actions and perhaps lead them back onto the path that will set a better future for them...whatever that may be.
SAMPLE !
Normally, Fiona didn't care to wander the halls in between classes. Students tended to not watch where they were going as they chatted with their friends. She also avoided the student washrooms as much as possible. They were usually not too tidy and overrun by giggling girls who wanted to hog the mirror. Not that Fifi necessarily needed to look at herself in the mirror. She didn't quite care how her hair looked, especially when she had a full day of teaching she had to go about doing. Not to mention, Fiona had her own washroom in her quarters that she used on a daily basis, but there were times where she didn't have the precious minutes needed to run across the castle to use her own bathroom...and thus she resorted on the washroom that was on her floor nearest her classroom.
Today was one of the days where Fifi didn't have the time to run across the castle, and so she wandered into the washroom. Luckily, it was rather empty for the moment, but she knew that other classes would be dismissed soon and then it would be crammed with teenage girls trying to look their prettiest. She had let her class go early, afraid her bladder would explode if she didn't hurry to the nearest restroom. It wasn't an unusual occurrence, though. Fiona often let her class out early because she normally covered more than what she had planned. Some professors looked down on that, but Fifi didn't really care what the other professors thought. Her class was one of the most well liked, or so Fiona liked to think, and so she really had no worries. Her students were good and that was all that mattered to Fiona.
She stood, currently, at a sink in the washroom; the warm water running over her hands as she washed them clean. The room started to fill up as girls filed in to cram their primping in between classes. Quickly, Fiona turned to grab some paper towels and dry her hands when she had to dodge a small brunette girl who was fighting to see into the big mirror. In doing so, Fiona found herself nudging an older student on accident. The nudge was more like a push, though, and that was only because Fifi needed to keep herself from falling over her feet. Before she could apologize, the girl snapped at her and Fifi's eyebrows shot up in slight awe. There was a hush over the girls in the restroom as they realized who the other girl had spoken to and they held their breath to see what the Professor would do.
"Well, then. My sincerest apologies Miss Black," Fiona stated calmly, "I shall certainly watch what I am doing next time..."
