PERSONALITY !

SHY! One of the first things most people will notice if they meet Aurora, is that, despite her attractive demeanor, she comes off as very introverted, usually talking in soft tones and putting a good distance between herself and the person in question. It isn’t that she necessarily wants to be socially awkward, or even alone. In fact, what she feels is quite the opposite; she yearns to be able to have friends and hold a normal conversation, and dislikes how she appears in first impressions. Although she will continue to have some of these traits, if you manage to be a friend, she will gradually lose that quiet demeanor around you. Also, she takes the slightest criticism to heart, even if it isn't intentional, and finds it hard to stand up for what she believes in, letting others make decisions for her, though she does wish she could be a little more forceful when it comes to this.

GRACEFUL! One thing that is noticeable about Aurora, is her grace. She walks with her head held high and her stature straight, with the speed of her walk depending upon her mood; sometimes she'll stride around in slow, dream-like daze; other times, it's almost as if she's bouncing along, adding subtle hints of an improvised dance here and there, usually accompanied by her humming or singing. She doesn't want any attention from doing this, but merely feels at home treating some parts of life like a dream.

COY! Although she is fairly naive for a girl her age, Aurora certainly seems to know ways of getting what she wants from people, particularly those she is close to. She'd never use this advantage for personal gain, however, but it seems that she knows just how to 'butter people up' so to speak, persuading them to either give her something, or do something for her.

NAIVE! Whilst Aurora has a certain sense of what's going on in the world, she is far behind in the knowledge that the majority of people her age have. Because she strives to see the good in everyone, and is desperate to fit in socially, a lot of people's underlying intentions [in most cases, bad] will go flying over her head, and she isn't the best at judging character on first sight. She does have some sense of when something is wrong, but can be easily fooled into believing something that isn't true, especially if a person shows even the smallest glimmer of what she believes is good in them.

QUIRKS: She has a huge habit of fidgeting when confronted or nervous, whether it's tapping her fingers together, shifting on the spot, or pulling on a lock of hair. Aurora also happens to have a melodious, lovely singing voice and frequently uses it...when she is alone; persuading her to sing in front of someone is difficult, although she can be found subconsciously humming as she performs daily tasks. The majority of her wardrobe consists of a range of blues and pinks, and, despite this being the modern day, dresses are something Aurora would wear all the time if she had her way. She is also a heavy sleeper, and it will take a lot of commotion to wake her from her dreams.

LIKES: Long walks, romance, singing, dancing, dresses that flatter her tall frame, charming young men, dreaming, roses, the colours blue, pink and grey, sweet animals, sleeping, hair accessories.

DISLIKES: The dark, being criticized, over-protectiveness, extremely revealing outfits, people being too logical [a.k.a. realistic], being lied to, having a lot of responsibility, having things decided for her, large amounts of make-up, looking scruffy.

HISTORY !

Aurora was born Aurora Isabel Holtzer to Stefan and Leah Holtzer in the January of 1992. Naturally, they were over-joyed at the prospect of having a child, as they had strived for so long to have one. Soon after her birth, they had a party to celebrate, and invited many of their family and friends. Within the guests, were Stefan's three cousins, who spent a lot time with the new-born Aurora, becoming as close to her as her own parents were. Unfortunately, the said parents had forgotten to invite an old friend along to the party, who showed up immediately on hearing word of it. She was furious at being left out of such an important event, and threatened that one day, she would seek revenge upon Aurora as vengeance for this act.

Distraught, her parents were helpless to know what to do, and that's when Stefan's three cousins came in. They had thought out a plan, where they would take away Aurora and adopt her as their own, but with the promise to the two adults she would be able to return to them if she wished after her teen years had passed. Reluctantly, the couple agreed, and their daughter was taken. Because of this, Aurora had her middle name modified and her surname changed to her cousins' names as protection, and moved over to America, believing for now that the three women are actually her aunts and that her parents left a long time ago, never to be seen again.

Now, Aurora is currently eighteen and has lived in Fantasia since her "aunts" moved there when she was fourteen. Despite living there for a while, her aunts' over-protective nature has rubbed off on her, and she remains shy, quiet and keeps to herself most of the time. Although she speaks with an American accent, and is far more familiar with the ways of American and Fantasian life, she still finds the time to practice on her German and it's traditions, ready for when she is to return to Germany, but only knows that she and her aunts are of German descent. She has never met her parents, but her "aunts" know that one day, she will meet them and complete her dreams of seeing at least some of the world in the process.

Aquata hadn’t been at the party long. It was looking pretty spectacular as far as parties go, but then she knew her sister Arista was one to go big on things. She didn’t know who else had organized it, but didn’t honestly care that much. She had come alone to the event, secretly to her dismay, though she was putting on a pretty good front right now. If only Ray hadn’t canceled on her like that…guys! Her first reaction was surprisingly hurt more than anger, but she realized later on that she obviously was still important to him, as he asked to meet up with her here. Wasn’t she?

Anyway...she could at least try to look interested in whatever was going on.

Of course, she had been to parties before now, like most people. But most of them didn't involve wearing a dress. Aquata didn't hate dresses, but she held a great dislike for them, preferring to be in jeans or comfy pants of some kind. She did secretly think that she maybe did look good in a dress, but Aquata knew she'd never admit it. Also, it didn't help that the two sisters she shared her room with were probably the two most fashion/style-conscious sisters out of her six. This meant that there would be no getting out of anything related to those from now on. Sure, she was the most physically built one, but it was two against one. Yeah.

Walking away from the wall she had been leaning against for at least ten minutes, Aquata supposed that she might as well go and find one of her thousands of siblings, and at least try and spot someone she knew on the way of doing so. You'd think with so many of them, they'd be easy to find. But nothing was ever done easy when it came to the Merren sisters.

A bored expression soon came to her face, and she then wondered if Ray had managed to make it to the party yet. Aquata knew she should be irked that he practically ditched her without much of an explanation, but then it came to her that he'd never seem the type to make someone angry on purpose, she'd never thought of him like that.

Aquata reached the bar. A drink might make her feel more comfortable. Maybe.
