basil's a detective and part time criminology professor at thomas college. seeing as he's housing basil of baker street, this isn't a surprise. he's stubborn, eccentric, and maybe just a bit mad. over all, he's got a friendly demeanor (if not a little childish), though generally is too absorbed in his own thoughts to make many personal relationships. but this is his chance~ please feel free to plot with him. <3

friendship isn't in the detective's vocabulary. he's somewhat socially inept, preferring the sanctity of his work to uncomfortable emotional displays. he's kind and fiercely loyal to a fault, but one just needs to get over that awkward barrier.[/size] 
the only direct family basil has is his mother, who's currently residing in london with a caretaker. the woman's somewhat mad, and basil hasn't seen her since he left, nearly ten years ago. he checks in every once in awhile, speaking only to those responsible for her wellbeing, and leaving it at that. other than that, basil has no pets, fathers, or siblings to speak of. [/size]
this is a really complicated issue. basil's married to his work, and as stated concerning friends, he's emotionally stunted. he doesn't know how to show affection, because he wasn't lathered in love and kisses as a child. he wasn't abused directly, but he was never given good examples of what love is. as such, when he's being flirted with or hit on, he deflects it immediately, making it indefinitely clear he's not interested. if someone's persistent though, by all means try to court him. he might give in eventally. ;3 [/size]
number one on this list is criminals. the man's harsh on crime and won't tolerate breaking the law. though he'll be first to admit what's illegal isn't always morally wrong, it's his duty to bring wrong-doers to justice. so, basil isn't going to be jafar's bff. sorry. [/size]

basil and debra i have no real idea, but i just think it'd be funny to see these two together. yeah. i can imagine deb striking up a conversation, and once she finds out his job, just wigging out. "ohmygosh, that's so cool. so you, like, totally bust bad guys and get bad people locked up?" except less... ditzy. even if he's socially challenged, she'd just chirp away. so it might be that she thinks they're friends and he just thinks she's... annoying or something. i mean, we could always throw other ideas around. XD

hohmaigoodness yus. basil just..wouldn't know what to do with her. totally clueless to his obvious not-wanting-to-talkness no matter what poor social cues he gives her. x3 oh goodness. if he ever learns about her "sister", i could see him being interested and secretly concerned. god i love making this guy make emotional bonds with people he doesn't want to. <33 |

Basil and Ellie! I think of Basil being like a mentor to Ellie. She's new in town and needs someone to look out for her, to give her advice and to be the practical friend. Plus she could get him out of his shell and have him a little more loose around the edges. What do you think? |

cute. <3 basil's a...complicated fella, but i think ellie's childishness and surprising wit will seriously impress him. it'll be adorable.
he'll see her as a kid the more he gets to know her, and when that thought comes into his head, he'll feel a little protective of her. god i keep making basil a fatherly/big brother figure and he hates it. x3 this sounds like a fun plot, lady. |
