Elli stood at her ballon stand, her balloons already high in the air as she was sitting by the front of the circus entrance. She liked working near the circus, kids were there meaning that she would make some money. Who wouldn't want a balloon from her? She was nice, loveable, and sweet with the kids who were begging for their parents to get a balloon. Plus her price was reasonable. It was a nice day to sell balloons, and she loved seeing all of the blue in the sky and clouds, making her seeing random pictures and objects. It made her feel like a kid again, something she enjoyed feeling on a daily basis. It made her think of her parents, and how they were doing back at home. Did they miss her? She missed them herself, and she hoped they did miss her. She saw one of two kids coming her way and she smiled at them, handing them each a balloon as they give her 2 dollars each. Ellie watched at the two balloons, one blue and one yellow, dancing off in the air on their strings attached to their new owners. She smiled, thinking she did a pretty good job as she started a new balloon to get it ready. THere was not one balloon that was the same, and that was Ellie's philosophy. Individuality was her forte when it comes to her balloons. One red might look the same to the other, but it would be a shade darker. Each balloon was either with a unusal shade, or some of them had polka dots or stripes. She loved how the balloons looked in the sun, almost like placing red cellophane over the sun and having the world be a new color. Sometimes Ellie wished her life would be so simple to change with a flick of a wrist. One minute you would have a dark red world, filled with hate and pain, and the next minute it would be a yellow world, filled with joy and happiness. Life should be simple, colorful and filled with happy memories, like a balloon.

* all i can taste is this moment , The shaggy haired man was not completely sure he should be at the circus, especially with his dog in tow. Still, he was ninety per cent sure that they all knew him there anyway and did not mind his brining Fluffy at all. The dog’s tail wagged happily as he looked up at all the smiling, happy faces of the people at the circus. A few children bent down and ran their little fingers through his long shaggy fur, at which the dog would reply by licking the child’s face or hand, depending on which one was more accessible. Max simply kept walking, knowing that his dog would always keep following. At one stage he turned around to see a young girl about to hand a lollipop to his dog. “Oh, no dear. Please don’t, it’s not very good for him.” The girl pulled the candy away and Fluffy whined, to which Max whacked him playfully across the muzzle. Fluffy just shot back an angry look and proceeded to lick his master’s hand.
Both man and dog were still worn out from the morning’s run. They had gone further than they usually did and after grabbing a nice cool drink had decided to head down to the circus as it was within walking distance. On the way they had stopped by the pet store to make sure everything as running smoothly and had then jogged all the way there. They walked through the circus beside each other and every now and then Max would reach into his pocket and pull out a nice snack for his companion. The dog would bark happily and wag his tail in excitement. Really, the pair were both easily excited and there was no way to cage that excitement either.
However their fun was soon ended when one of the circus masters noticed Fluffy there. Yelling at the pair, both Max and Fluffy turned heel and ran. “Sorry,” Max yelled back apologetically as they continued to run as fast as they possibly could back to the entrance. Soon they were they and they crossed the threshold quickly, slowing down into a nice calm walk, both panting heavily. Shaking his head, the man looked down at his dog and thumped him on the head. “You idiot, we both could’ve gotten killed in there you know?” However Max was still grinning at his friend and there was a smile clearly plastered on his face.
At that moment, the Old English sheepdog spotted something that made him jump. Max noticed it and narrowed his eyes at the dog. But he was not fast enough. Fluffy was running full pelt at the balloon stand and it did not look like he was going to stop any time soon. “Fluffy!” Max yelled as he started to pursue the canine. Running was his specialty but dogs sure were fast. Luckily the dog had no intention of actually running into the stand. Instead as soon as he reached it he started jumping up and down and barking at the brightly coloured balloons for some unknown reason. Max stopped in front of the balloon stand and looked down at his dog. “Hey Fluffy! Shut it now,” he growled and the dog sat down and was quiet immediately. Then, Max turned to the owner of the stall, giving his hair that award winning flick that always got a girl’s attention. “Sorry about that,” he muttered apologetically. Then, laughing slightly he added, “I don’t think he’s too fond of balloons.”

Jack wandered along the Circus grounds, rolling his eyes in annoyance. How he allowed himself to be talked into going the circus was beyond him. He didn't particularly enjoy the idea that circus people were running around waiting for someone unsuspecting to walk by so they could pick their pockets clean when they weren't looking. Even though Jack had done it once or twice when he was struggling, he made sure he paid them back eventually after he had gotten himself a job. The other reason why he hated the circus would have to be that the people there were just plain creepy in general. Especially the guys who were in charge of the rides. He felt like any minute one of those rides will break down and kill everybody. Jack had been told by Oliver more than once that he worries too much, but when he doesn't worry, that's when things happen. Even though his motto usually is "why should I worry?" it happens. A lot. He blinked as a dog and his owner sped past him and went to the girl selling balloons. Jack chuckled lightly at the sight of Ellie and went to follow after the canine and the man he'd dragged along. Jack always liked dogs, he'd had a few when he was growing up, and he knew that most dogs didn't like balloons. His dogs were weird because they liked balloons until they popped them, but then they kept playing with other balloons to try and pop those too. He raised an eyebrow at the man as he slipped in beside Ellie, leaning against his red-haired friend. He noticed the boy's body language with Ellie and he knew that he had a "trademark hair flip." Jack was very protective of his friends, much like a dog is with its owner, and so if this boy was going to make a move on Ellie then it would have to get past him. "Ellie-jelly-belly! Watcha up to? Hope the boy and his dog aren't causing you any trouble" he grinned, keeping his friendly demeanor with both Ellie and the boy before them.

Many things happened at once. She heard a dog barking from far away and a young man trying to follow him. The two of them were pretty fast in her opinion, so seeing the both of them running towards her almost scared her. It wasn’t that she was afraid of dogs, she loved them in fact, but it was the fact that they were running really fast towards her and making her blink at double time. The dog then started to bark at the balloons, thinking that they would come alive at any minute. She smiled at the sight, loving at how innocent the dog was.
“It’s quite alright.” She said to the boy who flicked his hair away from his eyes. She thought he was rather good looking, but most boys in that city were anyways. Plus he looked like he was a bit embarrassed at what his dog was doing and how he was behaving. She shrugged, “I know how dogs are about balloons, they think they’re toys no?” It was true, dogs had the mere thought that they could eat them and run around with them. Ellie then felt a bit hungry and broke out some of her candy that was in the jacket pocket, eating one or two and seeing the dog look at her with wide eyes. She giggled, seeing how badly he wanted a piece.
“I like your dog, he’s full of energy.” She said to the boy, but before he could say anything else to her she saw an old friend walking her way and said hi to her. It was Jack, a very dear friend of hers and she beamed. Jack was always like a big brother to her, showing her the ropes ever since she moved to the city and giving her the ins and outs of the place. He was also a very good friend; the both of them were adventurous and risky when it came to the law.
“Ello Jack, what brings you here?” She asked him, tilting her head to the side and having her hair flow out in the wind. His company made her smile and feel better, even when she was in the worst mood he would lift her up with a smile or a witty catch phrase.
When he asked if the boy and the dog were causing her trouble, she shook her head, "Not at all, his cute dog actually wanted to get a balloon. They're nice, not to worry Jack." After saying that, she gave him a wink.

* i'm falling to pieces , Grinning up at the young girl he rested a hand on his dog’s head. The dog just sat there, wagging his tail and staring up at the many balloons that were ready to be popped and destroyed. “Thanks,” he laughed softly in response to her statement. It was true, Fluffy was a very lively dog. Another voice called out and Max turned to see yet another man standing there. He seemed to know the balloon vendor and addressed her clearly by name. Ellie. Sweet name really. He turned and grinned back at the sandy haired man. It was good to have some company. Even if he did not know who either of these people were, they would still provide some good entertainment for the day and that was all he really wanted. Entertainment was certainly fun and it kept you on your toes. Meeting new people in Fantasia was a daily thing. There were so many people in the city and you couldn’t help but greet them and befriend them. After all, you needed someone to hang out with.
The balloon vendor, Ellie as her name was, questioned the other man, who was revealed to be called Jack. It seemed everything was unfolding in front of him. When the man mentioned Fluffy bothering the girl Max turned a shifty look on him. Although it was clear he had been joking, Max did not like anyone insulting his dog. However Fluffy just sat there grinning idiotically up at the balloons and wondering when one of them was going to try and attack him. “Fluffy here would not hurt a fly. A balloon however is a totally different question. And he really should not have one.” The man grinned at the other two people, wondering how it was that they knew each other. Jack seemed to be slightly older than him and Ellie was probably a little younger. Although age did not matter all that much really. The point was they were company and company was always good. “I’m Max by the way,” he added on, realising that neither of them knew who he was.
Looking up at the balloons he smiled again. “So, you own this lovely balloon selling business?” Max asked, feigning a puzzled look. There were so many balloons up there, all of bright hues. They were really very pretty against the light blue sky and white puffy clouds. He had not had a balloon in what seemed like ages. His parents had given up buying him anything once he had mentioned that he did not want to take over the company. Of course, his father had completely flipped and the only present from him so far had been the Mercedes which he never used anyway. It was more fun to walk around Fantasia, especially with Fluffy around. His mother had bought him a few small things for Christmas and his birthdays but everything else had been from his own pocket. Because of that he really had not bothered to buy anything that would not last him such as a balloon. And yet, balloons were pretty fun.

“Ello Jack, what brings you here?”"Eh, Oliver talked me into it. I don't particularly like the circus-'cept for you of course-and now I've lost him," he chuckled, nudging the redhead lightly. Jack smiled as he looked around as if looking for something and then it hit him-he lost Oliver at the evil circus. "OH MY GOD I LOST OLIVER!" he spazzed, his blue eyes wide as he leaned his head on Ellie's shoulder and whined. "I'm a bad boyfr--person!""Not at all, his cute dog actually wanted to get a balloon. They're nice, not to worry Jack."Jack straightened up and took a deep breath. He'll find Oliver later, maybe during Ellie's break they could go find him together. The man blinked as he noticed the other male hadn't liked him commenting on his dog. “Fluffy here would not hurt a fly. A balloon however is a totally different question. And he really should not have one.”Jack snorted in amusement. Fluffy. Nice name for a guy to name his dog. But he nodded at the mention of Fluffy not having a balloon. "Yeah El, I know from experience that dogs and balloons only mix until they pop it..."“I’m Max by the way,”"I'm Jack, this is Ellie," he answered, watching the other boy closely as he leaned against Ellie for emphasis when he introduced her.

Ellie smiled at the young man, then looking down at the dog who was still staring at her balloons, waiting for one to pop off at any minute for him to chase. She giggled and squatted down to pet the dog, getting good lick in the face that made her laugh for a moment or two. Fluffy reminded her of Jared's dog, who was just as big and just as playful as the dog who was currently licking her. It made her sad for a moment, but she got back up on her feet and looked over at Jack.
"That's not good that you lost Oli, I'll help you find him on my break." She reassured him, rolling her eyes in the process. She knew Oliver only by Jack and his tales about him. Oliver was a young high school student and Jack took him under his wing. And like all who are friends of Jack, including Ellie, they were overprotected by Jack himself at times.
When Jack introduced her to the boy, she smiled at him and nodded her head, "How do you do." She replied to him with her smile still evident on her face and looked back at her balloons, "You seem like the type of boy who is in need of a pick me up, how about a balloon? Jack, I know you might need one to get that smile back on that mug of yours."
Another small girl came up to her and gave her two dollars, which Ellie took and then saw her point to a yellow balloon that had red polks dots. Ellie smiled, unhooking the string and giving it to her. The girl smiled back at her and skipped off down the path to her awaiting parents, seeing them smile at her choice of balloon. Ellie placed her hands on her hips, feeling like she just did a good deed by brightening a smile on a girl's face.

* willing and able to run , Max nodded at both Jack and Ellie, smiling the whole time. He now had their names confirmed and felt a lot more at ease. Fluffy was happily wagging his tail and staring up at the balloons, Max’s hand ruffling the fur on his head. At the mention of Oli, however, Max was suddenly rather confused. He had no idea who this Oliver kid was but it seemed as though he was of some importance to Jack. Perhaps it was his son? It did not seem very likely as Jack was still quite young, around the same age as himself. Still, it was quite plausible. He decided it would be best not to jump to conclusions.
Looking over at Jack he let a smile curl his lips upwards. “And Oli is?” Max questioned rather curiously. He was one to ask questions and he did rather like to gain more information about other people. Whoever this Oliver was, he was important to Jack and therefore by gaining information about Oliver he received a greater understanding about Jack. In the same way he also learnt more about Oliver so that if he ever met this kid he would not have to ask as many pointless questions.
Ellie offered him a balloon and he found himself beaming. He laughed a little and then reached into his pocket, fishing out any coins that he had. Finding a two dollar coin he handed it over to the girl. “Thanks,” he laughed. “I’d like the light blue one thanks.” Looking down at Fluffy he pointed up to the one he wanted and whistled a short sharp note. The dog looked up and barked, his tongue lolling out of his mouth. Grinning Max gave the dog a pat on the head. “I guess he agrees.”
Max turned back to the other man and let a smile fall across his face. “Now, you say you’ve lost this Oli kid?” Max questioned. He liked helping other people and he would, if he could. However if the boy was inside the circus he could not really assist too much seeing as he was not allowed back in. “Perhaps we can draw him out using Fluffy here as bait. Does he like dogs?” It was a reasonable enough plan, whether or not it would work was a guess for anyone. If Oli had gotten into any trouble though he would need help and so they had to help him. Max was too kind for his own good sometimes.
