"Sandy! Sandy get back here! Oh for the love of--I know you're excited to see your buddy but you've gotta come HERE!" Ariel groaned, running around the house to try and catch her dog. The canine had grabbed her leash and decided to play keep-away with it once her mistress had emerged from the closet. Ariel groaned, rolling her eyes and giving up for the time being, sitting on her bed and pulling on a pair of shoes. That dog would be the end of her. Within a few minutes of putting her shoes on and primping herself more, she felt a wet nose nudge her in the side. The girl smirked as Sandy sat on her haunches and wagged her tail at her, offering the leash to her mistress as Ariel took it. "Okay, cuz you came to me with it eventually I"ll forgive you this once."Soon, the pair had made their way out of the girl's estate and towards Duckberg. She grinned as she felt Sandy tug at the leash for Ariel to run with her, and she sighed, shaking her head but eventually giving in and running along with the large, golden dog and appearing at Max's door not long after. She laughed, Sandy lying on her side in exhaustion as they caught their breath. "See? that's what you get for egging me on!" she giggled, Sandy wagging her tail at the redhead before her as she stood up and barked at the door once. Ariel rolled her eyes and pushed the button on the door that created the sound of the doorbell. Yes, she had her own ways of getting in the house, but she figured Max was most likely just in his boxers and wouldn't appreciate her walking in on him. The redhead waited for the man to answer the door, and once he did she smirked, wrapping her arms around his neck and jumping into a hug with him, Sandy running inside while the humans were distracted. "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!"Note: sorry bout the title, it's just stuck in my head

* i hope you think of me , Rushing around his whole house, the man tried as best as he could to tidy up. First came the dishes. He scrubbed them all quickly and shoved them into the dishwasher, flicking it on after he was done. Running a hand through his shaggy brown hair he looked down at his dog. “I’m so not gonna be ready,” he laughed, patting the sheepdog on the head softly. He was still in his boxers and had made no move yet to go and put on any real clothes. Arielle was so going to kill him when she arrived at his house. The whole house had not been cleaned in days and there was stuff everywhere. He managed to shove all of his stuff into his wardrobe and pick everything up off the living room floor. It took him around five minutes to do all of that and he still had not changed, but the doorbell interrupted him from his work.
Fluffy looked up and started barking and running around in circles madly. Shaking his head he decided against grabbing any clothes. It was pointless really, Ari would be expecting him to come down in his boxers anyway and if he changed now she would just call him out. So instead he just ran down the stairs and straight to the front door. Swinging it open he grinned at her. She stepped inside and gave him a hug. “I just spoke to you on the phone,” he laughed in reply. His usual goofy grin spread across his face and stuck there as he looked at her. She had gone for comfort clothes so it wasn’t that bad that he was hardly wearing anything. “Sorry, didn’t have time to change.” His humour was clear and he ran a hand down his heavily muscled stomach. It was all that gym time he did really, and all the running. He had a great body in many people’s opinions but he was sure that Ari was not at all affected by it. Still, he couldn’t remember her ever seeing him shirtless before. Usually he made sure to throw a hoody on first.
Closing the door behind her he watched the two dogs spaz out together. They were completely psychotic whenever they hung out with each other. Max shook his head at the sight of the pair of them. “I guess my training failed,” he sighed melodramatically, shaking his head again to exaggerate it. Of course straight after he burst into laughter. Leading her up the stairs he and Ari walked into the living room. Everything was more or less neat in there so it was safe to hang out in that room. His bedroom of course was a different story. It was relatively neat but they hardly ever went in there anyway. He was ninety per cent sure that Arielle had only ever seen his bedroom once but that had been at his old house anyway.

“I just spoke to you on the phone,”"It's not the same as seeing you!" she laughed, poking his forehead with a smile. Max should know by now that Ariel was more of an I-want-to-see-you kind of person rather than a I-want-to-talk-to-you-on-the-phone kind of person. Even though she adored the sound of his voice, she preferred seeing him and holding him than just hearing him. “Sorry, didn’t have time to change.”Ariel noticed her gaze falling to his well-toned stomach and she felt her face heat up. She kept her arms around his neck and couldn't help but stare at him. Geez he was testing her now. She shook her head to try and control herself, looking at their dogs spaz out with each other and giggling in amusement. “I guess my training failed,”"Poor baby," She giggled in response as he led them upstairs and into the living room. She smirked, knowing that most likely he cleaned up right before she got there and chuckled, flopping onto the couch and watching him closely. Once he was close enough she gave the elastic of his boxers a tug and had him sit beside her after tossing him a hoodie she found beside her on the couch. notes: SO EXCITED!!!!! You have no idea. I'm literally fighting her wanting to kiss him. haha. Ariel's a little too excited. sorry if its a little short.

* i knew before you got home , Max could not help but laugh at her small remarks. She could be so funny sometimes. I mean, most of her jokes weren’t that good but he still always found himself laughing at them. They had never really had that flirty kind of relationship and what always seemed to confuse him was the fact that she didn’t always seem fond of all the various romantic partners he had introduced her to. Okay, maybe some of the guys she hadn’t been fond of because she was a little weirded out by the fact that he was bisexual, but he hadn’t thought that it matter much to her. But they were friends, and they always would be. Of course, Max often thought he felt a little something more for her but he just disregarded it and put those feelings aside. Besides, there was probably someone she liked anyway so that was no matter. Whoever it was he would try his best to be nice, unless he was a jerk then there was definitely a good prank coming up.
Shaking his head he cleared his mind and laughed as Arielle pulled him onto the couch by the elastic of his boxers. She threw him a hoodie and he chucked it on quickly. “Don’t like my abs?” Max joked, grinning goofily at her. He was sitting quite close to her and he tilted his knees slightly towards her legs. The dogs came over and jumped onto the other couch together. Of course Max did not mind this in the slightest. The dogs had always been allowed on his couch and he thought it was better that way. They deserved comfort too after all. He looked over at them lying next to each other, so affectionate. “They look like they’re having fun,” he mused softly. Then he turned his gaze back to Arielle.
Smiling at her he wondered what she was thinking. Max knew almost everything there was to know about Ari and she knew basically everything about him. They were best friends and always would be but of course he too wondered if she wanted more. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and put his legs up on the coffee table in front of them. “So, what’s been going on in your life? Any guys I should know about?” Once again his goofy grin fell across his face. It was one sign that always showed he was happy. Arielle had been the cause for that smile so many times in his life and he loved her for it. She always seemed to know how to cheer him up when he was upset or angry. Even when his parents had flown down to see him she had been there for him and had helped out a little. It was always great having her around but he knew sooner or later he would lose her to some other guy. It was just the inevitable.

Ariel smiled, watching Max react to her remarks. She didn't know why he was single, (not that she minded that he was unattached at this moment) but she would admit (never to his face) she wasn't too fond of any of his previous significant others. It didn't matter what gender they were, they just all had something wrong with them that she didn't like. She had always harbored some kind of feelings for Max, and that was part of the reason why she was never in a serious relationship. She wanted to be with Max. Ariel smiled at his comment about not liking his abs and she rolled her eyes. She loved his abs, and he knew that, but she wasn't in the mood to correct him. She smiled as he positioned himself towards her and she scooted closer, watching their dogs with a smile as Sandy placed a paw on Fluffy's and nuzzled her head into his. Ariel felt her smile widen at the two and she felt herself leaning more towards Max. “They look like they’re having fun,”"Yeah, they do... I envy them," she answered quietly, watching them but soon feeling his gaze on her. She turned pink at him watching her and she turned away, smiling slightly. Soon she felt his arm around her shoulder and she leaned into his touch, finding herself leaning against his side and an arm wrapping around his waist as she made herself more comfortable against the boy. “So, what’s been going on in your life? Any guys I should know about?”She shook her head, looking up at him with her head on his chest, listening to his heart beat. "Nah... None of the guys around here measure up to--" she cut herself off, knowing that she would've confessed to her feelings if she hadn't. She looked down and started tracing shapes into his chest, cuddling closer as she kept him close, enjoying the sound of his heart. She eventually looked back up at him after what seemed like an eternity and she felt her instincts taking over. The redhead was soon leaning towards the boy, knowing she couldn't stop herself this time, and soon she kissed Max. Regrets? None. Notes: gah! yeah, they're adorable!!!

* the way we make out , Max was listening intently for his best friend’s answer. However what she said confused him completely. She had not finished her sentence and that led him to wonder how it would have ended. Who, or what, don’t the guys measure up to? Surely she could not mean him. This was just crazy. Her whole body language was screaming for him to move closer, to move in and take her up in his arms completely. But instead he was frozen. His mind was trying to figure everything it out. It was working in overtime. What could she possibly have meant? This girl was really bad at dishing out the gossip. It was like when you’re telling a joke and you leave before you can say the punch line. It leaves everyone utterly confused and wondering what happens next. People question everything. Max hated being in suspense. He liked surprises but not ones he certainly did not see coming.
Looking down at Arielle he felt her finger lightly trace patterns against his stomach. He smiled down at her though she could not see for she was not looking at him. He wanted to see into those lovely sea green eyes, figure out what she was thinking at that moment. They sat like that for a while, Max simply trying to figure her out without any way of getting inside. But soon she looked back up at him and he looked down at her, right into her eyes, into her core. Still, he could not get deep enough. He could not figure out what she was planning, what was going on in her mind. It was such an intricate maze of which he could not find the centre. He wanted to know her inside out; everything there was to know about her. He knew he should not be staring like this, but he just could not stop himself.
In twenty-four years of living, Max had never imagined this would ever happen to him. Ariel had leaned up towards him and brought her lips to his. He closed his eyes and moved further into the kiss. Max brought his right hand up to the side of her face and stroked her warm, velvet skin softly. He could not believe this was happening. She was his best friend, not his, whatever you would call this. Still, he had to admit that it felt amazing. He had never thought that this would happen. Max had never really had the guts to make a move on her, but mainly because he was not sure how she felt about him. They had known each other for so long and Max had been convinced that Ari just considered him a friend and nothing more. Yet his heart had always wished for something more and now here he was, finally, and he was still confused.
Max pulled away first and opened his eyes again, dropping his hand from her face. Shaking his head he sighed. “What-“ he started, but he could not finish. He took another deep breath. “So I guess no guys taking your fancy then,” Max joked, trying to make this less awkward in the only way he knew how. The goofy smile faded however and he shook his head again. “Sorry, I’m such a douche.” He turned around, not wanting to meet her gaze. This kind of thing was not usually this awkward for him. Still, she was his best friend and he had never really pictured anything like this before between them. He felt so confused and his heart was still pounding from the electricity of it all. Without turning back to Arielle he spoke again, his voice nearly shaking. “What exactly is this?”

What was she doing?! She was kissing Max! She was kissing Max! She was kissing Max! Oh for the love of pete just get over it and enjoy it! She smiled in the kiss, feeling Max's hand on her cheek and she placed her own on his. He was her best friend just as she was his, all this time she had wanted him to see her as something more, and yet it hadn't happened in all that time. Now, after all these years, she had made her decision and now she was still slightly confused herself. She wanted to be with Max, but she also didn't want to drive him away because of her feelings for him. When Max pulled away, she pouted a bit, but watched him closely. He took his hand from her cheek and shook his head. Oh great. Not good. Then the panic set in. Did she go too far? Did he hate her now? Oh for pete's sake, SAY SOMETHING! “What- So I guess no guys taking your fancy then,”Okay, wishful thinking gets you nowhere. The redhead pulled a face at his comment, not sure what to say to that. She wasn't overly eager about this but she also wasn't desperate--at least, on a conscious level. She was about to start up with him about how this was serious and maybe she shouldn't have done it in the first place when his goofy grin dropped and he looked down. “Sorry, I’m such a douche.”She blinked as he turned away from her. The seriousness in his voice was slightly terrifying. The girl bit her lip and rubbed her arm nervously, hoping that Max would turn around again. "You're not a douche, I understand..." she murmured, kicking herself for doing this to him. What was her problem?! “What exactly is this?”Ariel felt her heart sink. Great. She hurt Max. The redhead had no ulterior motive, she just let her body do what her mouth wouldn't, tell Max how she felt. The girl bit her lip, the warmth from Max still on them, as she moved closer to him. The girl sighed, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind and placing her head on his back. She didn't know what to say to try and comfort him, to explain her feelings, and then it hit her. She smiled gently as she answered his question from before, to answer his question now. " None of the guys around here ever measured up to you..."

* don't tear me down , Feeling Arielle’s arms around his waist, a small sliver of a smile pulled at his lips. He had to admit, the closeness was nice. But Max just needed to get his head straight. He could not handle too much information all at one time and this was certainly a whole heap of information to take in. He wondered if other people who had kissed their best friends felt like this too. Only she was the one who had moved in first and yet he had done nothing to stop it. But that was because he did not want to stop it. He wished that he had now, maybe. Just a small part of him did. This just made things so much more complex. Max loved her more than anything else in the world but did not want to complicate their relationship. They had always been best friends and now, to think of them as an official couple was just not altogether bad. But it meant that if they ever broke up, what would happen then? Would they still remain friends, could they go back to being like that? Or would they simply drift apart and lose everything they had earnt themselves over the past years?
A small sigh escaped his lips as she finally finished her sentence from earlier. He turned around, pulling her off his back so that he could see her face. He smiled at her, and he ran a hand through her soft red hair. “You left it wavy,” he murmured as he noticed that the natural waves were all there. He was glad that she had not straightened it. Though she usually did, the natural waves looked so much nicer in his opinion. His hand paused at her neck and he held her cheek in his hand. He looked into her eyes, trying to read her emotions. She seemed kind of upset at his reaction and he needed to make up for it. He did not want to hurt her, in fact that was the complete opposite of what he wanted.
Looking down at her he smiled again. “I’m sorry, I just didn’t know quite how to react to that.” He paused and softly pulled his hand back away. “I’ve always been honest with you and you know that Ari. But, there’s something I’ve been hiding from you for a while.” He paused, trying not to let anything show through. “You see, I’ve never told you how I really feel about you.” Now it was Max’s turn to run with his instincts. He bent down and put his lips to hers, moving into the kiss once more. It was just as perfect as before, only now he wasn’t the one caught by surprise. His hand moved to the small of her back and he pulled her in closer. It was perfect, everything was simply perfect.

Arielle continued her inner emo monologuing as she didn't hear much of a reaction from Max. She blew it! It was all going to fall apart and be awkward!! Oh why did she have to go and do that?! The girl blinked as Max pulled her off his back and turned around to face her. He was smiling! Ooh! Maybe it was a good sign! “You left it wavy,”She blinked in surprise at the random comment, but she smiled all the same. "Yeah, well someone special told me I look better this way," she chuckled, leaning into his touch as he touched her cheek, her hand instinctively coming up to wrap around his as he seemed to try and read what she was thinking. She blinked in surprise and watched him closely, tilting her head. By now she knew when he was non-verbally reacting to her emotions, and she felt bad... At least, until he smiled at her again. “I’m sorry, I just didn’t know quite how to react to that."She nodded and smiled lightly. "Sorry, it just kind of happened...""I’ve always been honest with you and you know that Ari. But, there’s something I’ve been hiding from you for a while.”She tilted her head curiously, her curls falling from her shoulders and hanging there as she watched him. Was there something she was missing? Her heart rate shot up as she started to think about what it could be and then it hit her--but it couldn't be! Could it? “You see, I’ve never told you how I really feel about you.”Oh god, oh god, ohgodohgodohgod! Her brain started to freak out, but before she could do or say anything she felt Max's lips on her own. She blinked in shock, but grinned and leaned into the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him tight to her. Okay, that was answer enough for her, but she still wanted to hear what he had to say. She smiled as she kept the kiss going, holding him close as she ran her fingers through his hair. Eventually, she needed air and she broke the kiss, grinning from ear to ear as she kept Max close, leaning her forehead against his as she stroked his cheek. Well, her horrid boring day just got a hell of a lot better.

* did venus blow your mind , The kiss seemed to last for hours but eventually Arielle broke it, coming up for some air. The pair just sat there, with their foreheads close together. Moving his hand, he held her cheek in his palm. Looking deep into her eyes he let the goofy grin of his pull at his lips. She was so beautiful, in fact this moment was so beautiful. Still, his stomach was jumping from the thrill of it all and his heart was pounding at a million miles per hour. He could not make it stop but he did not particularly want to. The feeling was rather nice but he wondered if Ari was feeling the same way. They had been friends for so long, and now this changed everything. Yet, it didn’t have to. They were still the same two people and now they both had what they wanted. Is that what Arielle wanted? He could never be too sure but he was certain she liked it. Besides, she had been the one to initiate it.
Laughing softly he bent down and kissed her nose before moving away again. Shaking his head he grinned again. “Listen Ari,” Max murmured, but he turned towards her and flashed her an innocent look, warning her that this was not a break up speech. “I’m not really good at these kinds of things. Especially when it comes to you,” he tried to laugh a little, to try and trick his brain into thinking he was not nervous but in fact slightly amused and incredibly happy. “I just don’t want to hurt you is all.” He gave her a rather innocent, sad look. His lips curled up in a half grin, wondering what she was thinking. She would probably slap him, that was the most likely outcome.
Drawing his feet up around him he turned to her and tried to smile properly. Sighing he decided he had to do the only thing that he could. “Okay, new plan.” A grin spread across his face. “You and me, movie and a pizza.” It was his rather unofficial way of officially asking her on a date and he wondered if she would pick up on it. He did not really know how to go about doing these things but he was hoping that Arielle knew his brain well enough to be able to figure that out. He was just slightly confused. Did she actually want to be his girlfriend? Was this just a spur of the moment thing and did she just want to forget about it? The words Arielle and girlfriend together kind of confused him. Never in a million years would he ever have thought of putting those two together, at least not with his name and boyfriend tagged on the end.

Arielle grinned, feeling herself breathe deeply to get some air into her lungs. She loved Max more than life itself and she didn't want to lose him. They had been friends for almost forever and since she knew him so well, she knew he was thinking about, so therefore she could process that he was still second guessing what she wanted. She smirked, giving him a peck on the lips and raising an eyebrow at the boy. "Now Max, if I didn't want this, why would I initiate it?" she purred, smiling at him. She did want to be with him. He was her best friend, and therefore he knew her inside and out. She chuckled lightly when he kissed her nose and listened as he started talking again. “Listen Ari,”Oh that was never good. She was about to open her mouth when Max flashed her a smile that meant he was just going to talk and this wasn't a potential break up speech. “I’m not really good at these kinds of things. Especially when it comes to you, I just don’t want to hurt you is all.”She blinked at the sad look in his eyes, touching his cheek lightly and kissing his forehead affectionately with a smile. "I seriously doubt you'll hurt me, and even if I didn't have a doubt, I'm sure you know me well enough that I won't let you hurt me." she winked, stroking his cheek lightly. “Okay, new plan."She blinked. “You and me, movie and a pizza.”She laughed, leaning over and kissing him again. "Sure, but can it not be one of those actioney-horror things we always watch?" she asked, smiling at him. If he wanted this to be a date-which she was 99.99999% sure he did-he'd know her favorite movies are those sappy chick-flicks that seem stupid when you look on the people watching it, but when you are the ones watching it, it's the best movie ever and you cry and stuff. Her favorite was the Notebook. Notes: poor Max, so confused, but at least Ariel knows what she wants and she's gonna get it whether he understands or not! lmao <3 jk. but movie time!!!

* it's loneliness she finds , Max grinned and looked over at Arielle. She always seemed to make him feel so much better. The awkwardness that he felt between seemed to evaporate and he knew that Ari knew exactly what he meant by his few words. It was like she could read his mind or something. Only he had always felt that way. They were best friends and had been for so long that it was a wonder they weren’t at the stage of finishing each other’s sentences. They probably could anyway it was just; they weren’t those type of people. They didn’t do those kinds of things. Instead they showed how close they were by other means. One of these ways was the fact that whenever one person was feeling down or annoyed about something, the other person would know straight away what to do and how to fix it. It was simply the way they worked. Many had often mistaken them for a couple before and they would both simply shrug and do the whole ‘we’re just friends’ thing. But now they wouldn’t have too. Because now they were official, at least to Max they were.
The man knew exactly what Arielle was thinking about. Smiling he got up and moved to the cabinet underneath the television. “Let me guess,” he murmured, trying not to laugh. “Something sappy like, ummmm, I don’t know….The Notebook.” Max turned and grinned at his friend, wait no, girlfriend. That was still strange to think about. Turning around again he ran his hand over the spines of all the movies until he came to rest on The Notebook. He had bought a copy a while ago, knowing that it was Arielle’s favourite and wanting to make sure that he could entertain her whenever she was over at his house.
Switching on the television he opened up the DVD player and slipped the disc in. Closing the DVD player he grabbed the three remotes and went back to sit on the couch. Switching on the surround sound he pressed the select button on the DVD remote as the language menu came up. He had always wanted to watch a movie in a different language but never really had. Once he had tried watching one in French as he had done a course on it a while back but he could not remember a thing. Still, it had been a fun thing to try and do.
Leaning back on the couch he looked over at the redhead. She was so beautiful, he noticed, sitting there beside him. Max had never really looked at her before like that but now that he did he took in everything. Her hair was really amazing, especially when it held its natural waves. Her eyes were the perfect shade of sea green however he did note that they often changed colour. Max placed his arm on the back of the couch, just behind her and prepared himself for perhaps the most cliché movie that had ever been created. Still, he would do anything for Arielle and that included subjecting his mind to this kind of torture.

“Let me guess, Something sappy like, ummmm, I don’t know….The Notebook.”Ariel grinned from ear to ear as he had gotten up and gone to pop in the movie. Yup. Max was awesome. He remembered her favorite sappy/romantic movie. The redhead giggled when he plopped back down beside her and placed an arm on the back of the couch. She smiled and leaned into him, wrapping an arm around his waist just for the hell of it. She loved being with Max like this. He was always so warm and cuddly. The girl smiled at that thought and figured that she had just mentally described one of the features a dog had. She blinked, cuddling into Max more and for some reason wondering what he would be like as a dog. Probably something like Fluffy. Speaking of the dog... Ariel felt her gaze wander over to the dogs on the other couch. The two were cuddling, Sandy leaned up against Fluffy as the male dog placed his head on Sandy's. The girl smiled up at Max and kissed his cheek gently, cuddling back into him and turning her attention back to the screen as the movie started. Oh how she loved this movie. note: sorry it's kinda short, trying to get to my replies before bed. may not succeed, but gotta try.
