Days off were never fun. Finishing off her hair, Ariel blew her bangs out of her face and picked her phone up from it's perch on her dresser. The redhead sighed as she put the blow dryer down and pressed one of the first numbers on her speed dial. She waited until the boy on the other end answered and she grinned. "Maxxie!" she grinned, finding herself twirling her hair at the sound of his voice. When she noticed the idiotic look on her face in the mirror she promptly stopped, trying to distract herself with her hair once again. "I'm bored, no work today. Let's go do something."

All feeling in his legs was completely gone. The large lump of a dog lay sprawled across Max’s legs and he could not move because of all of the weight. However the dog was alerted when the phone rang and sprang off Max’s legs, hurting him even more. Max thumped his dog across the back as soon as he started barking. Grabbing his mobile phone he looked down at the caller ID. A grin instantly spread across his face. “Hey Arielle,” he laughed as Fluffy tried to get in on the action. “Fluffy no! Sorry, the dog’s gone mad. I think he knows it’s you.” Max grinned and sat back down on the couch, watching as the sheepdog jumped up beside him. “Mkay, I’m fine with that. But, what did you have in mind?” For some reason he could not stop smiling. He noticed that he wasn’t even dressed yet, just wearing a pair of boxers and no top. His hair was a complete shaggy mess, although that was usually how it looked even when he went out. Although he was reminded that Arielle would not really care what he looked like, she was, after all, his best friend.

Arielle grinned as she heard the boy's dog start to bark on the other end. She set her phone down and put it on speaker as she started to mess with her hair further. She couldn't help the idiotic grins on her face when he spoke to her, but she chuckled when she heard the dog trying to interrupt him the entire time. "I dunno, I'm just getting cabin fever sitting here. That, and I have no idea what to do with this red abomination I call hair. Should I straighten it or tease it so it's curled? Or maybe I should just dye it, maybe red's not my color." she asked, staring at her reflection in annoyance. Even though Max was her best friend and he didn't care if she looked like crap, she wanted to look at least presentable when with him. This was madness! The girl whined slightly when she couldn't figure out what to do with herself when her own dog wandered into the bedroom after she heard Max's dog on the other end. Ariel reached over and pat Sandy, her golden retriever, and watched the dog start to sniff the phone and bark once in response to Fluffy on the other end. Ariel started to laugh at the sight as Sandy kept staring at the phone, taking a seat at her dresser and smiling.

Laying a hand on his dog’s grey and white coat he listened as his friend continued to talk. Max smiled again and shook his head in slight annoyance. “You try having my hair Ari,” he chuckled, running a hand through his dark mat of hair which seemed to have a mind of its own. “But red suites you fine. I swear, if you dye your hair I’ll never speak to you again.” His tone clearly displayed the fact that the he was joking but he still could not believe that she would have said something like that. Having known her for so long he knew very well that red was simply her colour. It looked perfect on her and he knew that most people would not pull of red quite like that. “Straight looks nice but I think your natural waves look even nicer.” Max paused to turn and look at the photo of the pair of them a few years ago. In it Arielle had nice waves that framed her face and made her look gorgeous. “Why are you asking me about this anyway? I mean it’s not like I’m completely gay. Being bi is a totally different thing.” Once again he was still joking. He knew full well that Arielle was aware of his sexuality. Max had introduced her to a wide array of both girlfriends and boyfriends. The dogs barked at each other and he grinned. “I think Sandy and Fluffy want in on our plans. How about you come chill at my place? We can catch up on all the goss.”

"Oh don't complain about your sexy hair. If you change it I'll come over there and make you grow it out again," she smirked, messing with her hair once again as she kept an eye on Sandy and her phone in her peripheral vision. She smiled lightly at the sight of the picture they had on both their phones which they set as their photo IDs for each other. At his comment about never speaking to her if she dyed her hair she feigned a dramatic gasp but she knew he was joking. she smiled when he said he liked the waves in her hair better and she went to her work, pulling out her styling gel and applying it to her hair, teasing it back into it's natural wavy shape. "I know, but you're my best friend, I'm still entitled to ask you how I look even when you're not in the room," she laughed, focusing on her reflection in the mirror as she applied some makeup. At his suggestion of going to his place, she shook her head with a slight chuckle when Sandy voiced her approval. The girl smirked and took the phone back, taking it off speaker phone and answering his question after a few minutes of thinking about it. "Alright, I just gotta throw some clothes on and I'll be there in a few." she answered, running into her closet to go find something presentable but comfortable to wear.

Max grinned once more at his friends reply and he laid his legs on top of his dog. Fluffy simply growled softly in reply but ignored his master completely apart from that. Flicking another hand through his hair he laughed softly. “I’m glad you still consider me your best friend Ari.” Once again his usually tone of humour was held in his voice. For some reason he always sounded like he was joking but it was something he could not help. He was just that kind of guy. She answered his request again and his heart started pounding heavily in his chest. He did not understand why that was happening, I mean, she came over all the time. Why would now be any different? “Sure thing. See you soon.” Max grinned, hung up the phone and rushed into his kitchen to deal with the dishes from the day before. He had approximately five minutes to deal with the mess or Ari would kill him.
