MOTHERING! Caitlyn Potts is a highly empathetic person. She has a hard time hearing about another person’s problems and not moving in to try and fix things for the other person. She is the sort of person who has a lot of time and patience with people. It’s very rare that a person annoys Cait. There isn’t much you could do that would make the girl think less of you. She feels everyone has good in them, and their bad actions are usually just mistakes. Which actually sees Caitlyn as being a little too trusting in the human race. Some people out there are full of hate or spite.
MATRIARCH! If you are a fan of Harry Potter, this trait of Caitlyn’s will be explained by the words “Mrs Weasley stare”. However, if you are not aware of what that means, let me explain. Caitlyn, while she can be highly mothering and nurturing, is also rather stern when it comes to people doing what she sees as the wrong thing. She won’t take hesitation in telling a friend that their immoral behaviour disappoints her. She tends to have high expectations on her friends. While she doesn’t mind too much about minor rule breaking, she does mind when people she cares about are involved in harmful and immoral activities. She may glare (and has even been known to give backhands for being tools) but what tends to be more affective is the ‘I’m just disappointed in you’ look. Talk about a guilt trip..
MATCH-MAKER! Cait is really good at seeing the signs- As long as it is other people and not herself. She’s the sort of person that will notice a crush forming before you even realise you have one. She’s just really perceptive towards other’s feelings. Not to mention, she likes to play a part in getting people she feels would be a good couple together. It’s a shame such skills do not extend to her own love life though. Caitlyn is often oblivious to men in her life that might be potentially more than friends. Caitlyn has always been a small town girl. She was born in the small town of Pickering in England. In the back-seat of her father’s car to be exact. See, at the time, Pickering had no hospital, so it was on the way to the next town that the baby was born to new parents Curtis and Milly. Despite being an unconventional birth, the family itself was fairly conventional. Well, besides Cait’s crazy Porta Rican – English grandmother. Then, what fun is there if there isn’t a little crazy in your life? The Potts’ lived, for most of Caitlyn’s first year, in a rather small one bedroom apartment. The living room doubling as a nursery. However sometime before her first birthday, they moved into a small cottage house.
Caitlyn grew up in a rather nurturing environment. Which in turn fostered that sort of behaviour in Cait. While there was yelling in her house-hold, the scolding was never given out of hate. While her parents were supportive, growing up, Cait suffered from low self esteem. It’s not hard to tell when you are larger than most kids in your class, and it was something that bothered Cait. Her mother would try and ease her worries, telling her she should be proud of who she was. Regardless though, Caitlyn’s self esteem fluctuated dramatically all the way through her childhood. Neither her mother or Grandmother were small though, and there came a point in her life, as she started to grow into her teen years, that Caitlyn just stopped caring so much and she grew content in her own skin.
After high-school, the girl was at a loss. She knew she wanted things from life but wasn’t sure where to go next. She needed a change. It was pure coincidence that while looking at nanny jobs in her own country, perhaps London, that she found one in Fantasia. A busy family of five was seeking a house keeper and a day time nanny for their young children. Some house-work and looking after the youngest child during the day, then all three after school. Fixing the evening meal and having them all bathed and ready for bed in time for their mother to come home. The job sounded near perfect, and she’d babysat all the way through high school, plus her part time waitress job so she had the money saved, and references. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but she left her family for the big city and hasn’t looked back since. Sure, she misses them, but she’s settled into her new life. She worked for the family for six months before they decided they wanted to move. Cait didn’t want to go with them, so she got a job at De Bete Hotel and has been there ever since
