It was late during the afternoon on a rather cold winters afternoon. Of course, most days during the winter were cold. Of course, that’s what was keeping Elin inside her apartment on this particular day. She hated that. Elin was the type of girl who spent the majority of her time outside. Taking in a breath of fresh air was so much more enjoyable than taking in a breath of the same air you’d been breathing for hours. Of course, her thoughts on this didn’t exactly motivate her to get off her couch. Groaning, she flipped through the channels, trying to find something to stimulate her mind. Unfortunately for her, she had absolutely no luck. Pulling herself off the couch, she went to her kitchen and grabbed an apple, before walking back to her seat. As she did so, the blonde found herself quoting the commercial playing on her television. “Mr. Owl,” she started, saying the line with the blob of a boy on the screen, “how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?” Putting her apple to her mouth, she recited the owl’s lines, taking a soft bite into the fruit with each number. That is until three. At that time she bit as hard as she could, a bit of the red fruit falling into her mouth.
Finishing off the majority of her snack, she got back up, and walked over to the trash can, and tossed it in the bin. Looking out the window, which was in serious need of washing, she decided that she needed more fresh air than simply opening the window would ever offer. She then made her way to her bad room, and shifted through the clothes in her closet. Switching from her pajamas and into the clothes she had just laid onto her bed. Running her fingers through her hair, Elin realized just how dirty it was. Grabbing the hat off her dresser, she tossed it on her head, following it with a pair of black flats. Dressed, she left the building she lived in, and started to wander, no particular destination in mind.
As she wandered the streets of Fantasia city, she decided she wanted two things; pie and a warm glass of out chocolate. Despite the fact that Elin despised winter with a passion that burned hotter than a forest fire, she did love hot coco. And when was the best time to enjoy the treat? Winter of course. Of course, the only place Elin knew of that served both places was Flo's Diner. Linny had a love-hate relationship with the establishment. On one level, she hated it. Of course, it was mostly working there she didn't like too very much. She did enjoy their pie, though not so much their other food.
Destination in mind, Elin started to walk to the Diner. It was going along fairly smoothly for the most part. Of course, there was a little hitch the road when someone ran into the small girl. It would have been fine if the person had taken the time to apologize. However, they didn't. The walked around her and continued on their merry way. "Motherchucker!" the young lady screamed, drawing attention to herself. Elin had no clue what the big deal was. After all, she could have easily said something far worse. Shrugging it off, she continued walking until she reached the establishment.
Walking in, she instantly found her seat. Well, her favorite seat. It wasn't exactly like she owned the seat. When the waitress came around, the blonde ordered exactly what she wanted; a steaming cup of hot chocolate (with a little whipped cream on top of course) and a slice of apple pie. Elin loved apple pie. It was her absolute favorite. Sure, a good slice of blueberry or pumpkin pie was a lovely thing. But on pie terms, nothing beat a slice of apple pie. Receiving her snack, she picked up her fork, and attacked it. After her first bite, the blonde smiled."Mmm pie." With that, she took another bite. Putting her fork down, she lifted the mug off her table, and took a sip, looking up as she did so. As she did, she noticed a familiar face walk through the door. Her face lit up as she noticed the person, and waved to them, hoping they would come to sit across from her.
