PERSONALITY !
PROPER! Lacy likes manners and etiquette. A lot has to do with her up-bringing, but by nature she’s fond of societies rules. The young woman prefers things to go a certain way, and she has high standards of herself. She always tries to hold herself with some grace and dignity, and tends to get rather upset when she’s been embarrassed, or lost some form of dignity. This constant desire to be the ‘right’ sort of young woman often finds Lacy rather uptight. She’s unable to let herself go and enjoy life, constantly on alert and best behaviour. Of course like most people, things don’t always the go the way she plans, which leads to more anxiety.
SHELTERED! The young woman has lived all her life in a very sheltered environment. She attended school with the same people she saw socially, and never really experienced anything outside the social circle her parents had created for her. This small bubble that was her world caused the young woman to become very naive. While she may be well educated, she has very little idea what it means to be out in the real world, and lacks a deeper understanding of human behaviour. She takes everything at face value, and doesn’t understand that people lie, and aren’t always what they seem. It just doesn’t occur to her really.
ROMANTIC! Lacy is an old fashioned girl. She believes in grand romances. Like you read about in fairytales. Her idealistic look on love has given her some unrealistic expectations of love, marriage and most importantly, men. She expects them all to be white nights, and hasn’t realised chivalry isn’t exactly in vogue anymore. The idea that a man could cheat or play around is shocking to her, and she can’t understand how people could do such things. Needless to say, she’s had very limited experience with the opposite sex. Of course, she’s dated before, but it was more polite dates and innocent hand holding. Nothing incredibly blood pumping.
QUIRKS: -- She always wears the locket her mother gave her for her thirteenth birthday. It’s in the shape of a heart with her name engraved. -- She can’t talk about sex, or say the correct (and vulgar) terms for anatomy. She refers to private parts in rather childish terms like ‘you know what’.
LIKES: Spaghetti, Bows, Headbands, Blue, Pastels, The moon, Piano, Flowers, Lace, Pearls, Mornings, Her locket DISLIKES: Storms, Mud, Feeling out of place, Manwhores, Being left out, Embarrassing situations, Strange foods, Night Clubs, Cigarettes , Rats, Sleeping alone, Cats
HISTORY !
Lacy was the first born child of Darla and James. A wealthy young couple who had only been married for a few years. They lived in a rather nice house in Duckberg. The house had belonged to Darla’s great aunt, who had left it to her favourite niece the year before. The first thing they had done was refurnish the house, as it was rather dated. Darla had even been so bold as to turn one of the guest rooms into a nursery. So when she had fallen pregnant, the couple had been over the moon. When the tiny bundle of joy had arrived, they doted on the little girl. She was given everything she wanted and needed, and Darla (much to James’ protests) allowed the child to sleep in their bed as often as she wanted. Life was perfect for their lovely little lady.
That was until the new baby was born. Darla and James hadn’t particularly wanted any more children, so when Lace was eight, it was a surprise to everyone when Darla fell pregnant. Lacy, who had been used to being the spoilt only child, wasn’t sure how to take this new phase of her life. Suddenly her stay at home mother wasn’t spending as much time with her, and her father was excited beyond belief to have a son to do the father and son things with he could never do with Lacy. To make matters worse, the pregnancy was complicated. Being that Darla was getting older, every slight thing sent the parents to be in a spin, worried something would happen to their new baby. When she child was born though, despite everything, Lacy was smitten. In fact, she felt it her job to protect the child.
Things were fine for a while, the dynamics shifted but everyone adjusted. However the older her brother got older, it became clear (to at least his parents) that he was a gifted boy. Again, Lacy was shifted aside for him. When she was set to start college her parents suggested she move into the guest bedroom so her brother could have the larger room since ‘you won’t be home much anyway’. She had no doubt that her parents loved her, but the constant attention her brother had was draining. Still though, she did love her brother, and she was far too polite to do anything but sulk and feel sorry for herself.
