IMAGE REMOVED BY ADMIN "Thank you, but what else?... Is beauty all that matters to you?" – Princess Odette, The Swan Princess
NAME: Odette Grace Callaway NICKNAMES: Callaway AGE:19 BIRTHDAY: October 23 ORIENTATION: Straight NATIONALITY: British OCCUPATION: Student at Thomas College/ works part time in The Rabbit Hole PLAYED BY: Taylor Swift DISNEY: Princess Odette; The Swan Princess USER GROUP: Royalty
PERSONALITY !
ROMANTIC! Odette has always been a huge romantic. She loves being in relationships and being with someone to trusts implicitly, someone she can spend all day with, and sleep in their arms. Although she’s not desperate for relationships, or to get married, she would love to eventually. Her parents were always very close, until her mother died, and she’s always wanted a relationship like theirs was. Never one of those girls who must be in a relationship at all times otherwise she’ll fail to function, she does love the feeling of being loved and wanted, of having someone buy her little presents ‘just because’- and buying them things too, of being wined and dined, and courted. ‘I need to know that he loves me, for just being me’ INDEPENDANT! Although Odette is romantic, she’s also wildly independent, and if she’s not happy in the relationship, she’ll leave. She is perfectly happy on her own and doesn’t need to be in a relationship to make her happy- although it is nice. She was raised to be able independent, and the last thing she wants to do a) become one of those girls who needs to spend all day, every day with their partner, freaking out if they don’t text them back immediately, or wants to spend some time with their friends instead of her. Or b) Unable to do anything herself, she can change her own tyre, change a fuse, put up her own shelves, and still have time for a long bath. ‘I will NEVER be yours!’ KIND! If there is one thing Odette Callaway is, it’s kind. She’s always there to lend a helping hand; she tries to do as much charity work as possible, helping out in various soup kitchens and sending money to various charities as well as spreading awareness, and is well known around her community for the help she tried to provide. And yes, this does sometimes get her into trouble, with people mistaking her kindness for naivety. Granted, she’s not the most street wise of people but she can hold her own. ‘You’re so good, Odette, so kind’ STUBBORN! Oh hell, is Odette stubborn. If she’s got her mind set on something, it’s happening- or not happening depending on what side she’s on. She won’t back down from something she believes in, and will fight to the end. There’s really very little point in arguing with her, because she won’t give up. She knows what she’s doing, and if it ends up going wrong then she’ll sort it out and fix it herself. ‘If you want to stop me, you’ll have to kill me!’
QUIRKS: – Talks in her sleep, fiddles with things when she’s nervous (ie, her hair, her fingers, her necklace), terrible liar, chews on her bottom lip and plays with her hair when she reads, analyses books she reads, sings in the shower and when tidying, needs coffee to function, has a reoccurring dream she gets turned into a swan.
LIKES: Reading, the rain, playing the guitar, coffee, cats, dancing, travelling, vegetables, running, cleaning. DISLIKES: Rudeness, arguments, mess, germs, sneezing, superficial people, lying, people being condescending towards her, people assuming she can’t do anything herself, spiders (or other creepy crawlies, but mainly spiders) , being ill.
HISTORY !
Odette’s parents got married very young, she was nineteen and he was 21. Everyone told them not to, that it was too early, they were too young, but the paid no attention and eloped to Gretna Green in Scotland and got married, they never broke up after. Happy as they were, in their marriage there was something missing from their little family; a baby. 3 years into the marriage they decided they were ready for a baby and started trying. Unfortunately it was harder then either of them had anticipated and, after 4 years or trying and getting nowhere, the couple were getting worried and went to a doctor, who told them there was nothing wrong and should just keep trying. Eventually the pair decided to try IVF, which also didn’t work, and after another year and several attempts Odette’s parents gave up and started looking into other options. However, within a few months of giving up trying, Odette’s mother found out she was pregnant.
Odette was born on the 23rd October, and her parents couldn’t have been happier. As a child Odette was always very bright for her age, and always very feisty, standing up to the older kids who tried to pick on her, and never one to shy away from rough housing with the boys at school she always managed to get into various scrapes at school, and at home playing with the kids on the street, often ending in cuts and bruises and the occasional broken arm. It was no surprise to her parent’s that, as a child, she was a tom boy, spending most of her time with boys, and refusing to wear dresses a lot of the time. The only ‘feminine’ thing she would ever do was ballet. Odette started ballet when she was very young and loved it. She’s always loved dancing and adored being in various shows her dance group put on, from the nutcracker to swan lake. Eventually Odette grew out of her tomboyish ways, and became more girlie, wore more dresses, stopped fighting with the boys at school... well, most of the time.
All her life, her parents had always been madly in love, holding hands when they walked, kissing when they walk into a room, silly little gifts and flowers and things all the time even years and years into their marriage. That kind of relationship is what Odette has always wanted, and will get. She made a vow after her first boyfriend left her for her best friend, to never settle for second best, to never accept someone to wants to be with her just for her looks, rather than who she is. Odette is a very beautiful young woman, and has found, unfortunately, that a lot of people around her struggle to look beneath her appearance at her intelligence, her kindness, her talents. They just see the blue eyes, blonde curly hair and a small waist.
When Odette turned 8, the unthinkable happened. It was a teacher training day at school, so she went to work with her Mum, as normal when Odette ‘s school was closed during the week. It was a great day, she got her own little area of her Mum’s office and wrote some short stories, read her book, even helped her Mum with some work (mainly stapling). On the way home, however, everything went wrong.
That morning, Keith Maxwell’s wife, Leanne, told him that she was leaving him for another man. And that when he got home that evening she’d be gone with all her things. Of course, Keith hadn’t gone to work that day, choosing instead to go to the local pub and drown his sorrows. After many, many beers and a few shots of whiskey he had realised how badly he didn’t want to lose his wife and jumped in the car hoping to get home before Leanne left.
He crashed into Odette and her Mum. It was a pretty nasty crash, both cars written off, and left Odette in a coma for a week. Her left arm was broken and dislocated and she had broken three ribs. Keith Maxwell broke both legs. Odette’s mother died at the scene. Heartbroken by his wife’s passing, as soon as she was well enough Odette’s father moved them both to Fantasia City.
SAMPLE ! ((Recycled)) Ally was sat in the kitchen at her table rubbing her swollen stomach as she stared at Derek’s bowl of food as she chewed on her bottom lip, a nervous habit she had had since childhood- something her grandfather would always tell her off about. The bowl was full. Had been for days, Derek never left food, never mind not touching it! What was stranger- scarier, was the fact that her hadn’t even seen Derek in a few days now! And he never stayed away from home! She was worried, more than worried, she was terrified. He was her baby, what if something had happened to him? She had been out calling him every few hours, but he hadn’t come home. What if something had happened? He was only little! Heaving herself out of her chair and waddled- oh God, she missed be able to walk instead of this stupid penguin impression, over to Derek’s cupboard grabbing a box of his favourite treats before leaving the house.
She had been worried for a while about how he would be with the baby. He had been her baby for so long, getting- no, demanding all of her attention when she was home, sitting on her knee, and rubbing his head against her hand demanding strokes. He was a very stubborn cat! Luckily he hadn’t been too concerned by the new furniture arriving at the house or the toys, or even the changes with Ally herself. At least, Ally didn’t think he had been - but he had been missing for four days now! “Derek!” She called shaking the box- something that would usually get him to come running at her as fast as his little legs could carry him, “Derek! Here kitty!” No reply.
God, if something had gotten him, a car, an animal, a psychotic kid, she would never forgive herself! He was just a baby, a big softie who thought he was hard, but the second you wore heels and worked on the hard floors would hide behind the sofa like a chicken. How could she lose her cat?! “Come on Derek, this isn’t funny anymore!” She only got him a few months ago, Well... it was coming up to a year now- had it really been that long? He’d been a birthday present from her best friend. A small smile played at the corner of her lips as she remember coming back to her apartment to find the tiny black kitten curled up in a ball on her favourite chair. Naturally, she freaked out, not understanding how the little tiny ball of fur had wound up in her apartment. The two had been inseparable since. And now she’d lost him!
The sound of a quiet, timid meow froze Ally in her tracks. “Derek?!” She called again spinning around on the spot! She couldn’t see him, but the second meow told her he was here! Somewhere. He sounded like he was right... above... her. A third. Looking up into the tree she was next to her jaw dropped. There, quiet high in the tree, was Derek. Stuck! “Stupid cat! Why are you up there?” She asked, he couldn’t even jump down off a fence never mind a tree! Pointing to the floor where she stood: “come down! Come on Derek, you must be starving!” Having found his owner, Derek, stood up and began pacing back and forth on the small branch he was one, excited about finally being found. But... how was she going to get him down? She couldn’t go up, not as far into her pregnancy as she was, but he clearly couldn’t get down. “Derek.” She muttered under her breath as she looked around for a solution, “only you could be such a cliché!”
