"Absatively, posilutely!" - Dodger
NAME: Phinneas Allen Dodge NICKNAMES: "Dodger" or "Phin" AGE: 21 BIRTHDAY: August 12th ORIENTATION: Bisexual NATIONALITY: Causation OCCUPATION: Bartender PLAYED BY: Ashton Kutcher DISNEY: Dodger (Oliver & Company) USER GROUP: Sex Symbol
PERSONALITY !
CONFIDENT! Just being around Dodger can make any feel more confident than they do on their own. Although he's one of the pickiest people around, so if you have the chance to hang out with him you better take it, and not complain. You are lucky if he chooses to befriend you. He's very complementary to the people that he trusts, and instantly tends to relax around them - sharing his opinions, thoughts and feelings openly and more apt to accept theirs. If you are with Dodger, he will do anything he can to make you feel good about your self!
COOL! That is such a cliche word, but Dodger really is 'cool', in every sense of it. When you've first met him, he seems so sincerely laid back and has a very calm demeanor. He could literally walk backwards through traffic and not get hit by sheer luck alone. He makes everything look flawless. Every mistake he tends to make doesn't look like one at all - any stumbles or missteps look more like dance steps instead of something he didn't mean to do. He's a tricky one, but radiates "awesome" all the time.
HIGH EXPECTATIONS! ...for other people. The people that he lets himself associate with adhere to a set of rules, set by Dodger himself. (Those rules are known only by him). There are certain attitudes that should be shown, adaptability is almost necessary, with the lifestyle that heleads, a good fashion sense, the same affinity for the things he adores... Simple stuff, really.
UNRELIABLE! Dodger tends to get bored REALLY easily. He typically keeps the people he associates with at an arms length so that he doesn't get bored with them before the friendship has a time to grow. As soon as something richer, prettier, or better comes along - he's gone.
MELODRAMATIC! He loves theater! (: He loves to act like a complete jerk and get away with it! He over-exaggerates when telling stories or even when describing a simple situation such as going to the grocery store. He is not afraid to tell lies to get what he wants, and he will always make up some story to hide the truth.
EASY TO GET ALONG WITH! Dodger has a VERY friend nature. He is smooth and cares about what other people thing more than he lets on, so he tries hard extra hard to impress people. He feels as if he can't get along with just about anyone, then he's not doing something right. He's an overall very friendly guy, especially to his friend's faces, but behind their backs is a completely different story. QUIRKS: Dodger tilts his head, mostly to the left while he speaks, and he has the laziest smile on his face while he does it. He's also a fiddler. No, not the instrument... more like with the rings on his fingers, the necklaces he wears, hats, loose strings on his clothing, forks, spoons, cards, chips, die, you name it, he'll fiddle with it if it's in reach of him. It's not a nervous tick, he just does it to keep his hands busy. Also, he stretches and cracks his knuckles constantly. He's always stretching, probably just because he likes the feel. Even under the table at dates, one once reported that Dodger was pointing his toes in order to stretch the back of his legs and keep them nice and loose.
LIKES: `Sunglasses. `Running. `Good company. `Expensive living. `The city. `Gambling. `Taking advantage of others. `Flirting. `Being lucky. `Winning. `Himself. DISLIKES: *Grime. *The poor. *Weakness. *Prostitutes. *Insecurity. *Lower-classes. *Apartments. *Mansions. *Tuxedos. *Purebred dogs. *Tagalongs.
HISTORY !
Dodger never knew his father. His mother was a twenty-one year old blackjack dealer in Vegas, just trying to make it in the big city, who got wooed by some rich businessman who seemed to have a wonderful marriage with the cards that night, as he was winning essentially every single round they could throw at him. After clearing the table and moving onto the slots, he hung around winning most of his rounds until his mother got off work, when he then convinced her to have a drink. One drink turned into five, then grew to ten... She was a very drunk woman, and him a drunk man, when they went up into the hotel room and opted to try out their horizontal tango in such a state of inebriation. And thus Dodger was conceived. He left the next morning with many awkward waves goodbyes and insisted that he had no intention of doing this, since he was married with two children already... Two months later, Lara had missed her second period and was beginning to feel faint in the morning. A few potty breaks over a test was all to tell her the wonderful news. Pregnant.
He was born as normally as other children, although he was in the womb with his mother at work on the tables until they sent her on leave until she turned 'hot enough to distract' again. As a baby, his mother continued to work as a dealer, leaving him with the maids of the Hotel/Casino that she worked with. As Dodger rounded the corner to four, his mother was knocked up once more, by a man she thought would be her boyfriend forever. And for a while, he did well enough by her. He didn't leave as soon as he found out she was pregnant. He stayed around until he realized it was a boy. It was about that same time that he discovered Jeremiah existed as more fruit from Lara's womb. When the new boy, Marsh, was born, he lasted about two years, and then Mr. Father was gone, off to tap some other ass. He'd done his duty, after all. It was only a shame they hadn't married, so he didn't have to pay child support. A shame, indeed.
On Dodger's fourteenth birthday, Lara lost her job as a card dealer. The hotel appreciated her long years of working, but she was losing her appeal at the tables, and it just wasn't good to have children running around underfoot all the time. He didn't leave a note. It wasn't his style. Just one day, he kissed his brother's forehead (Something Marsh rejected heavily, claiming it was girlie) and told him to be good, and that he knew where the Easy Mac was if he needed it. A duffel bag over his shoulder, Dodger began hitching away from the apartment where they lived. The scoundrel took up camp on the opposite side of town, towards the tourist hotels and gambling spots.
With his luck and counting card abilities, he rose to the top of the 'regulars' list, playing in poker tournaments and beating even the best the place seemed to offer. It was his skill that drew the attention of the first big roller. He was a mobster, plain and simple, and he had a thing for fixing games. Dodger was interested. Mostly for the money. He was a selfish boy, after all. With the help of the man, Dodger rose to infamy. It was luxury. Liquor, finely-dressed ladies, personally-tailored suits, expensive cigars... All for him. He sent money back to his mother and brother occasionally, but mostly he had forgotten about the past. Forgotten about those that were the closest to him, and instead embraced his new, much better dressed family. It was unfortunate that he was so trusting. It would, predictably, be his downfall.
Competition in Vegas consumed him. One night things went wrong, really wrong. When the police came in upon hearing the call of shots being fired, they didn't quite care to see anything but the hot gun by Dodger's feet, and him, leaning over the blackjack dealer, looking for a pulse with a cold look in his eye. He was arrested on the spot. A month passed without any bail. His trail date had been set for July. It was only March. He looked into his accounts and assets. Nothing was there. The Family had taken everything. When July finally came, the district attorney made a mistake. Misfiled papers, on the eleventh day of trial. Evidence not brought up during Discovery. Unvalidated video footage.
In other words, his crystal stamp to freedom.
And my, did that stamp deliver. It was declared a mistrial. He was freed.
Of course, as soon as he could, he booked it out of there. Went to Fantasia City. Since he had no assets in his name, he changed it, bought a new suit, cut his hair and shaved his disgusting goatee and moved plenty far from Las Vegas, without making him feel like he was in some sort of... secret services relocation project. There he blended. He got a job at a trendy bar, even though he'd never done a damn thing like that before in his life.
