i've got the frequency , to turn you on super conductor keep it gone , Work. Eve wasn’t sure whether working in the book shop was work, especially compared to the stuff she had to do at her internship. Distributing leaflets might not seem like work, but when people don’t care about what you’re leafleting about? No, Eve could assure anyone – it is work, and it’s bloody difficult. Eve’s delicate hands were tugging at the corners of an old copy of The Mill on The Floss, the curled up corners worn by many hands, eagerly reading on and on until the end. As a result, it was sun tarnished and the pages torn in places. That’s what happened when people read the books in the shop – they got worn out and then nobody would buy them. Smiling gently, Eve opened the till cash draw and pushed a few dollars inside. She would keep the book and they’d have made more money off her buying it than they would anyway – nobody would’ve bought the poor thing. The red leather bound cover was falling to pieces and the pages with curling at the edges. It was old and worn out, something Eve would want to cherish and pass down through generations. A tender smile curled her lips as she looked at it, affectionately straightening out the page corners before slowly closing it.
It hadn’t been busy that day at all and, honestly, Eve could’ve done with something interesting. Lifting her cardboard cup to her lips, she sipped at her coffee. It was milky, but without sugar. Her mother always said if you were sweet enough you didn’t need to add sugar, though she was sure that was just to stop her ruining her teeth. Yet somehow it’d managed to leak into her adult life and she still never added sugar to anything – even baking with sweeteners. The warm liquid slid down the back of her throat and warmed her, filling her slightly cold body with a new life, as if she’d just lit a fire in her belly. She loved it, but her boredom was beginning to set in again. She didn’t want to read – she read for pleasure all the time and, frankly, she wanted some company. The shop was dead bar a few people in the cafe area and a few older people scanning for books. As one approached her she dealt with them calmly and politely, never wishing to disrespect her elders. No, she had been taught to be polite to older people – even if she knew them. Sighing as she pushed the book into a bag and dropped the receipt inside, she knew this would be one of the few people who’d speak to her. In fact, she was sure the next person she’d speak to who was under sixty was her new puppy.
Reaching under the counter top she pulled out her wristlet. She only ever brought a wristlet to work because she could clip it to her jeans if she needed to, and she hated carrying around a lot of stuff on days when she didn’t have to go to her proper work. Unzipping it she looked at the contents, licking her lips as she pulled out an apple aid pop. Grinning, her eyes widened as she put her purse bag and undid the wrapping, slowly peeling back the plastic to reveal the sweet beneath. Eve was absolutely obsessed with them and loved the sticky, sour centre more than anything. At least it would keep her happy for a while, she thought as she stuck it into her mouth, eyeing the pile of books next to her. They needed to go back on the shelves and, as it was dead, she felt she had to do it. Picking up the pile, she realised that she couldn’t see where she was going, but determined as ever she stepped forward and onto the shop floor, judging that people would see her and move out of the way. ”S’cuse me.. bunch of books coming through”, she called out as she walked carefully forwards in the small book shop.

Wallace Edginton actually had hours before he needed to get to work but he always enjoyed on being prepared. That was why the eighteen year old was wearing black slacks and a white buttoned up shirt. Wall-E worked as a busbo fy in a fancy Italian restaurant. It was a bit overdressed for the sunny weather but Wall-E did not mind it at all. He had to make a stop anyway for a new book to read and a friend suggested to visit the city book shop, The Rabbit Hole. Walking down the street, Wall-E attempted to find the place, reading the scribbly address he wrote down. Oh gosh! Wall-E has been here for almost a year now but he still got lost in the city. He spent a total of ten minutes politely asking people on which way the bookshop was. Finally, after going around in circles, Wall-E managed to find the new book shop. Cloverdale never had a book shop like this and when Wall-E entered the store, his eyes widened in excitement. There were so many books that were completely brand new. Even if he did not have much money, Wall-E would not mind spending a few bucks to buy a new book. Something that he did not read before. He decided he might as well make his way through the aisles to find a new book to read. Walking by the cafe, Wall-E noticed old people drinking coffee and sitting in silence. It reminded him of his grandparents back in Cloverdale.
Nearing a discount table, Wall-E began to look through the books from sci-fi to romance. That's when his eyes set on someone working at the counter. The mysterious brunette girl was standing near the cash register and she drank her coffee. Wall-E walked behind a bookshelf, peeking his head over to her. She had beautiful blue eyes and Wall-E noticed that she was staring at a book, which was The Mill on the Floss. He smiled softly especially when he saw the girl purchase the book. It was a great book written by George Eliot. Wall-E now couldn't take his eyes off the girl but he remained hidden behind the bookshop. He could go up and talk to her but he did not have the courage at all. Perhaps he could discuss something about a book or actually purchase a book. That's when he returned to the discount book table and quickly looked for a book that was interesting. Ah! There was one about Mediterranean cooking and Wall-E did want to try some cooking at his new apartment. Smiling softly, he grabbed the book and made his way to the counter but she was gone. Where did she go? Wall-E reckoned she was there a second ago but it did take awhile to find a book.
Turning around, Wall-E's brown eyes scoped around the book shop and he wondered where the girl went. He decided that it may be best to read the book a bit before purchasing it. Making his way to the back, Wall-E sat on the floor as he spread his long legs across the floor. He began to read a interesting Greek recipe when he looked up and noticed someone walking with a book in his hands. It was too late to move his legs and the girl had tripped over him. Oops. Wall-E watched all the books fall across the aisle and the girl was practically laying beside him now. Wall-E's eyes began to turn red as he quickly got up. He then cried in soft voice, "Sorry! I was reading a book and I saw you but my reflex skills didn't kick in to actually move. Sorry." He began to pick up books as fast as he cleaned up plates at the restaurant. That's when he placed them on the top of the bookshelf and let out his hand to the girl so she can get up. Picking up some of the books, he then said, "Did you know that after George Eliot wrote the book, Adam Bede, several men try to claim it as their own? She had to force to reveal her true identity." Wall-E did manage to blurt out random information when he felt bad or nervous. He quickly added, "I noticed that you bought, The Mill on the Floss. It's a really good book. I read it just a few months ago." Maybe it was not the best idea to comment on what book she purchased especially since Wall-E was staring at her. He then let out a nervous smile and returned to help her collect the rest of the fallen books. Wall-E was not really good at talking to strangers especially when they were pretty girls. He was really bad at talking to pretty girls.

i've got the frequency , to turn you on super conductor keep it gone , Eve wasn't a particularly clumsy girl by nature. Sure, when donning larger heels than she was used to she had a habit of looking a little like a new born giraffe, staggering around, knees bent and totally inelegant. However, by nature, she tended to glide more so than walking and rarely tripped or fell. She couldn't help but notice it'd been happening more recently, in fact more so in Fantastia than when she'd lived in Canada. As she tripped and fell over the young man she let out a small cry, her bangles jangling loudly on her wrist as she hit the floor with a thud. Landing on her side, she felt the pain ripple up her side as impact fell, lifting her head to avoid it hitting the floor, so her hip took the brunt of her trip. The books flew in all directions and she winced, rolling onto her back to look at the culprit. But instead of seeing a horrible, evil looking man beside her, she saw the opposite. He was handsome, soft looking with a gentle tone as she spoke quickly at her. She barely had a chance to recognise what he was saying before he was grabbing the books around her. Easing herself up onto her bum, she spoke. "Oh.. no, no, no.. don't worry.. that's my job", feeling bad that the poor guy was now bustling around quicker than she ever would. Yes, he had tripped her up, but by the looks of things it certainly was not intentional.
As he pushed them onto the shelf she couldn't help but smile tenderly as she watched him, red faced and apologising profusely. He was sweet, and it certainly didn't seem like a façade like with some people. As he offered his hand out to her she glanced at it, arching an eyebrow before taking it and letting him help her get up. His hands were warm, a contrast to Eve who usually felt cold in the bookshop, despite refusing to wear a jumper. "Thanks.. and thanks for.. tidying", she tilted her head, smirking a little before bending down and picking up a couple of the remaining books. As he blurted out a fact she grinned, unsure of whether this guy was real. She'd never met someone quite like him, and he intrigued her - the way he seemed to apologetic, and had very little control of what he thought and what came out of his mouth, or so it seemed. Arching an eyebrow, books clutched her chest she shook her head, "I didn't.. but thanks. I don't know how I would've survived without that.. tidbit", she smirked, her eyes glazing the shelf before finding the place for the books and pushing them between other books, the shelf almost groaning at the movement.
Turning to look at him again, she let her hands hang at her sides, one thumb hooked into her jeans pockets, her eyes staring at the new person. "Mm, I've started it a few times.. I have a habit of not finishing the classics but whizzing through trash", she shrugged, a tiny smile curling her lips as she eyed him. Looking at the now clear floor she sighed, a happy relieved sigh that it wasn't going to cause any more damage. "So, long legs, what's your name?", she asked casually, folding her arms across her chest and smiling a little towards him. Of course she had to know - he'd just done her job, even if she was sure it'd result in a nasty bruise down her side, but she could forgive him for that. She could forgive him for most, she expected - he was just too.. innocent. It was hard to hold people like him accountable for their mistakes. "I suppose I should write you an i.o.u", she giggled, amused at her own thought of handing them. She'd already confused a guy by telling him she owed him, so she suspected it'd confuse this guy too - Fantastians just seemed to be more helpful than they had been in her tiny town, but then maybe this was a rare few people. She had a habit of finding people who were nicer than most, she was drawn to them.
