THERE WERE DOWN DAYS, and there were up days. Everyone had them, Tink was sure. It was part of the human existence to fluctuate. Some people though, Tinka had noted, seemed to fluctuate more than others. Or have more bad days. If she was thankful for one thing, it was that she wasn’t that sort of a person. Living in a constant state of depression. Dark clouds always over your head. It didn’t exactly sound like a fun way to live, that was for sure. When there wasn’t someone Tinka was jealous over, she generally was a rather happy person. A blunt, honest person, but a happy one. Still though, happy people had their down days. It was a good thing for the blonde that she had discovered a remedy for her down days.
Neverland. The place of childhood dreams. The place most of Tinka’s childhood dreams were made out of. As a young girl, her mother never had a lot of money for such expensive entertainment. However each time Tinka won a pageant, her mother would use some of the prize money to take the girl somewhere fun; the Zoo, the Imax.. Tink almost always chose Neverland though. It wasn’t as though she had s thing for theme parks really. It was just this particular one that she had such an affinity with. Really she couldn’t explain it. She was just drawn to it in ways that couldn’t be explained. Who needed to explain them though? If they made you happy then that was all that really mattered.
Now as an adult (or well, close to one anyway), Tinka still found herself drawn to the place. So much so that she had asked her mother for a season pass for her last birthday. Those things were really good value for locals. For just the price of a few visits she could go as often as she liked within a year. Sometimes it could be frustrating though, like when none of your friends had the money to go. Still thought, it was nice to go alone from time to time. She didn’t like to make a habit of it, but sometimes when she needed a lift, off she’d go and ride the tilt-a-whirl till she threw up or something.
Today she needed the cheering up. Today would have been the first pageant of her season had she not been put on probation. The whole situation was frustrating for the young blonde. However she was determined not to let herself mope around all day. As tempting as that did sound. No, she would go to Neverland and ride the tea-cups. That had been a favourite ride as a child, and she had hoped it was just what she would need to perk her spirits up. So without even bothering to see if anyone wanted to come with her she had thrown on some skinny jeans and a cute tee (a rather bland outfit, by Tink’s standards) and hoped on one of the charter busses that ran from the city to the park.
She had been right in thinking the tea-cups would cheer her up. It was a few hours later and she was just stepping off the platform after her third go at the tea-cups that day. It didn’t even really matter that she was alone. Smiling to herself, she looked around. What to do now? That was a rather important question wasn’t it? One she considered for a moment. Something to eat and drink wouldn’t go astray actually. Weaving her way across the crowd, the blonde made her way to one of the park’s many over-priced cafes. Eek, did she even have enough cash on her for a place like this?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was her day off and she had absolutely nothing to do. Why hadn't she thought of anything before? Why hadn't she realized that she would finally be off work for once and called a few people for a gathering? Shaking her head and plopping down on her recliner, the only form of seating furniture in her house besides the wooden chair in the kitchen, she grabbed the remote and clicked the T.V. on. Flipping through the channels she groaned when she saw nothing on. This was ridiculous, just great. Arabelle hated, and I mean hated, when she had nothing to do; she just wasn't used to it. Her whole life alone so far has been work, work, and more work. She needed to be moving because there was no way that she could possibly stay still.
Throwing the remote on her coffee table Arabelle stood and stretched. There had to be something to do around Fantasia; there was always something. Maybe she could go on one of her little adventures, maybe visit somewhere that she went when she still lived with her father. Walking over to her transparent cabinet of collectibles souvenirs from all the places that she used to go she opened it and looked for her favorite ones. There was a a plain old fork, and necklace with the hook broken, and a beautiful silk glove. The fork was her favorite because it was from the very first adventure that she had ever been on. The very first time that she had gotten up the guts to sneak out of the house she had just found it lying in the middle of the street. The necklace was something that she found hanging in a tree, hiding behind a small alley. Arabelle found it great that a tree even grew there, that something so beautiful could be behind something so...not. And the glove, the beautiful white, long, silk glove, was from the theater. The first time she had gone to see someone perform, one of the women had dropped her gloves while leaving. Arabelle had picked it up and ran to give it to her but she had been no where in sight. It was great to look at these things and remember her childhood every once in a while. It was great to revisit all the great memories.
Closing the box and replacing it in the cabinet she shut the door very carefully. Revisiting all those memories made her in a playful mood. Skipping to he bedroom she went straight for her closet, knowing exactly what kind of outfit she needed for today. Pulling on one of her old hoodies and a pair of old jean shorts she slipped them on along with her tennis shoes. Arabelle had never been the kind of girl to get all fancied up unless she really had to, and with where she planned on going today she really didn't need to. Grabbing her keys, her cell, and a bottle of water for the ride there she ran out of the apartment and down to the parking lot. It had been forever, since she was a kid, since she had ventured to this place and she just couldn't wait.
Neverland. The best theme park that she had ever been to when she was little. Not that that was saying a lot, but still. Paying for her ticket and parking she pulled into the closest spot to the entrance and hopped out of the car. She could hear the sounds of the rides and good smell all the good, greasy food. Grabbing some money from her purse that had already been in the car she slammed the door and ran for the entrance. Handing the guy her ticket and making her way slowly through security should could hear her stomach growling. That's right, she hadn't really eaten anything all day. Arabelle was used to snacking at The Rabbit Hole and being told when she was able to take her meals. When she was alone she forgot all about eating, but she knew just the place to go. Even though it was probably a bad idea eating before riding a bunch of rides but she just couldn't resist the smells around her. Spotting the cafe that her father took her to the last time she was here she remembered there food, and again her stomach rumbled. Slapping her stomach and murmuring something to it about shutting up she skipped her way to the restaurant in hopes that she had grabbed enough money. Flinging open the door and walking in she looked around and noticed that there weren't that many people in the place. Wondering why she took a look at there menu, knowing that her stomach needed something soon. Eyes widening she scoffed and her jaw dropped. The prices were unbelievable. "You have got to be kidding me..." She said out loud as she looked at the tiny amount of money in her hands. Looking over to the closest person next to her she rolled her eyes and did some sort of gesture towards the menu. "Can you believe this?" She asked with another scoff. Unbelievable...

Pushing the door open, Tinka stepped into the highly decorated cafe. It was designed to fit in perfectly with the theme of the particular area it was located. Squinting a little, the girl let herself have a moment for her eyes to adjust to the new light. It was always a little shock to the system going from the natural sun-light of outside to a bright fluorescent light. Tinka had never really been a fan of fluorescent lights anyway. She found them to be rather un-flattering. Even the prettiest person could look like crap under the harsh white light of a fluoro. Fluorescent colours, however, where a different story. Everyone looked hot in fluoro green.
Stepping away from the door, she let her eyes glance around. It wasn’t particularly crowded. Huh, that was odd. Tinka frowned slightly. The park wasn’t too busy, but busy enough for it to warrant more people in the cafe. Perhaps it wasn’t lunch time yet? Tinka wouldn’t know, her eating patterns were a little off. Wondering what the time was, she lifted her wrist. It wasn’t until she glanced down though, that she released (or remembered) that she wasn’t wearing a watch. She never wore a watch. In fact, she was almost certain the last one she owned had a cartoon image of baby spice on the clock-face with a British flag designed band. And yes, she had been a child thank you very much! Mature Tinka would never wear something like that....Every day anyway.
Smiling at her moment of stupidness (was what even a word? Whatever it was now) she stepped up to the counter. Her intention was to read the menus and work out some middle ground between what she wanted and what she could afford. However her very short attention span was pulled towards a red-head a few people ahead of her. The smile that had been on her face slipped away. She knew who that was. She didn’t even need the girl to turn around. Oh gross. What was she even doing here? Why, on the very day Tinka needed to be surrounded by happy things, did unhappy things have to pop up? It just was not fair. Anyone would think she had bad karma or something.
In all honestly, Tinka hadn’t liked the (in her opinion) ugly red-head since she was in the sixth grade. Not since the day they had both come to school in the same dress. Tink had, kindly she had thought, let the girl know that Tinka could pull off the dress much better and perhaps the other girl should go home and change because she looked shocking in it. For some reason the other girl had not liked those comments at all, and unpleasantness had erupted between them. Gah. It wasn’t Tink’s fault that she was just way hotter now was it? People were just way too sensitive.
Clearing her throat, she looked the girl up and down. She was glad, actually, she had been the one to spot the other one first. It gave Tink the upper hand, and she really did enjoy being on top... In more ways then one actually. Snearing, she took a step forward. “Some people never learn, do they? Some people still think sea-food from a fast food place is a good idea, and you still try to pull off clothes that you look horrible in.” Alright, so it wasn’t the most polite of greetings, but when had she ever been polite with her opinions?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Being ignored by the person next to her she watched them walk away has Arabelle rolled her eyes. Okay, so most people weren't as up and friendly as she was, but they didn't have to be that rude did they? Sheesh, the least they could do was say yes or nod or something. Over the years you think Arabelle would have noted that not everybody was as friendly and trustworthy as the people she grew up around. Looking around for the person she had talked to, so she could stick her tongue out at them and be the little girl she really was, she noticed a couple in the back of the cafe, sitting really close. The girl was sending major hints but it was likely the male hadn't even noticed. Oh gosh! Just kiss the girl already! She thought to herself as she turned around to figure out what she was going to do about food.
Staring at the menu she shook her head once again. Some of their prices were reasonable, but others not so much. Their prices were worse than the new Harry Potter theme park's. No matter what Arabelle just had to get something to eat. Looking for the lowest price on the menu she saw that it was a small order of fries and smiled. Something greasy, that would be amazing. Walking up to the register she ordered just that with a small soda and stepped back to wait. Thinking about it, it was good that she had ordered something small. Considering all the rides she was going to ride directly after this it was great precaution of her not vomiting after everything. Running her hands through her hair she stepped forward when her order was called, but was automatically stopped by a familiar voice's words.
"Excuse me?" She asked as she starred at the girl in front of her with amazement. Tinka Belmount, her enemy from grade school. What had that even started over anyway? Thinking about it she furrowed her brows, suddenly remembering. A dress; they had worn the same exact dress to school. Arabelle could remember the very words Tinka had said to her, and they had been harsh. "Actually, I don't think you have any room to talk when wardrobe comes into play. Wearing skinny jeans? With that rear end?" She questioned the girl and snickered. "Maybe you should run home and change," she added. Reaching over to the counter she grabbed her tray of food and wasn't afraid to pick off a fry and stuff it in her mouth. It was a nasty comment waiting to happen, but she didn't mind. Words never really hurt her, and the ones she had just said were payback for grade school. Arabelle's favorite sister had given her that dress for her birthday, and Tinka had ruined that for her. Everybody held grudges for the most stupid things, even if they didn't like to admit it.

One think Tinka was actually very self conscious about was her rear end. She was constantly worrying about it. Looking in any reflective surface to cheek what her buttocks looked like at any given moment. She also had to extensively study what any given outfit did to her behind before she wore it, or purchased it. It was a slow process really, but she felt she needed to go through it in order to make her rear looks it’s very best. If she wasn’t careful with what she covered it with, it would end up looking like she was smuggling watermelons or something. Which, let me tell you, was not a good look.
Frowning at the comment the other girl had thrown at her, Tinka felt her stomach twitch slightly. These jeans were ones that were well loved. She’d had them for about a year and they’d already been tried and tested for her behind’s needs. But had she missed something? Eyes glancing around, Tinka tried to search for something she could check out her arse in. However there wasn’t anything around she could use without making it completely obvious. And making it obvious would let the other girl know she had gotten to Tinka. Which was a no no. Never let your enemy know they are affecting you. Everyone knows that.
Putting her hands on her hips, Tinka narrowed her glare. Attempting to push any worries of her rear end from her mind. There was no truth to it, she had to tell herself, Arabelle was just being catty for no reason. Well alright there was a reason. Tinka had started this whole insult thing. Tinka always started it. The thing was, she just didn’t like it when she got it back. “Oh you think you are so smart do you? Just because you can string words together? Well news flash, Ranga, insults work better when they are true and I know for a fact my ass looks hot in these pants.”
Watching the other girl stuff her face with a greasy fry, Tinka turned her nose up. “You know, you might wanna lay off those, because I can already see the early stages of cellulite on your thighs and well, that could be really embarrassing now couldn’t it? No one likes a fatty.” Spying the soda, Tinka reached out for it. Swiftly picking it up and taking a sip. “Oh, nasty it’s not diet. Here look, I’ll get rid of it for you..” Without a pause she moved over to the nearest bin and tossed it inside. “There, all gone.” She said with a fake smile, as if she’d just done the red-head a favour.
