SAMPLE !
Derek never got a day off. If he wasn't working at the mechanic shop, he was protecting his pack as alpha wolf. He was always ready to protect his pack in case danger were to come their way. Not only was it his duty, but his pack was also his family. Among his pack was his younger brother and sister, who he loved dearly, but didn't know how to show it. He would make an attempt to show that he was there for them by protecting them, but he seemed to go the wrong way about it. Most of the time he came off as a bossy leader.
Today had been a bad day for the pack. Derek and his brother had yet another argument, which involved the two of them transforming into their wolf forms and brawling to sort out their differences. His brother had told Derek to stop trying to be like their father. It had hit a nerve for Derek, seeing as their father had been murdered by hunters. With Derek being the eldest of the Austen children, it was his birthright and duty to step up to the plate as alpha of the pack. Eventually their sister had to break up the fight, watching the two brothers as they stormed off towards different directions after they transformed back into humans.
Derek had stormed off towards the Delaware River, a place where he and his father used to go fishing. He wandered along the bank of the river, kicking rocks out of his path with frustration. He would need to calm himself down before he could return to the house. He knew his brothers anger truly hadn't been towards him and that Derek had been simply someone to take his anger out on. However, what he said was a slap across the face for Derek. He wasn't trying to be his father at all. He only wished to follow his lead and do his father proud and a lot of the time Derek was doubtful of his own capabilities.
Derek did not know how long he had been walking for, but all of his angry thoughts evaporated as he noticed the young girl, crying at the trunk of a tree. Derek, stopped in his tracks for moment, pondering on how to handle the situation. Should he simply turn back to avoid any awkwardness between them or see what was wrong? Derek was torn. While he wasn't usually one who was for dealing with emotions, his instinctive leader capabilities kicked in, even though he didn't have a clue as to who this girl was. Derek sighed and began making his way towards the way he had originally intended to go, pretending that he had not seen the girl.
When he reached her, he stopped, looking down at her then out towards the river. "Wow. I guess I'm not the only one having a bad day." He state with a touch of humor, trying to lighten the situation. Looking back at her once more, Derek noticed the pile of empty beer cans lying on the ground. This girl had clearly drowned out her problems with a large amount of alcohol. Frankly, he didn't blame her. Sometimes he felt like drinking away his problems, but he didn't, knowing that he wouldn't be doing any good towards the pack if he did.
